Official 2020 NBA Offseason - First Half Season Schedule Out

Covid self destructs on Nov 1. Trump declares responsibility for the miracle.

It's weird. Adam Silver has the NBA bubble working (somehow) but nobody else can figure out how to communicate or do anything else.

Silver for Secretary of State? Secretary of Education?

Bubble makes sense for the playoffs (both the NFL and MLB are considering post-season bubble action), but the players willingness to accept a season long bubble (7 month regular season + 2.5 months of playoffs) is another story. Would there be mid-season break for the players to get out of the bubble? Would families/SO's be allowed in the bubble from the start of the season? What would be the financial impact on the NBA/salary cap of no paid attendance for the entire season?

What's the functional difference between a playoff bubble and season bubble?

There are questions about families and such, but the basics are the same. Players show up and play games.

OK, guess it's a done deal then.

Just explain your point. Players committed to 3 exhibitions, 8 seeding games, and up to 28 playoff games over about three months for this bubble. They could do it again for the regular season.

The league could do three sets of two 15 team bubbles or three sets of three 10 team bubbles with breaks in-between. I already discussed how a long All-Star break in March/April would work. It's feasible and they'd be able to incorporate lessons learned from this bubble experience.

Didn't realize that you had connected with the players and they OK'd your plan. Sounds great. I'm sure after finishing up in October, everyone will be ready to get bubblicious a month and half later until next Summer.

Stop being an ass. We are all talking about ideas here. All but 8 teams will be finished next week and only four teams will make it to mid-September.

"Playoff P gotta step up. Can't keep losing all the time. They don't call me Championship Chuck"

So when do they shift from Trust the Process to *checks thesaurus* Trust the Operation?

So if Kawhi wins this one, he's tied with Lebron at 3. At what point does this start counting against Lebron's legacy? Kawhi's managed minutes probably hurt him a good bit. But he's already got the iconic shot.

Immediately. Three championships with three different franchises. Finals MVP as primarily a defender playing behind three future HOF players. Then going Back to back with two different teams. Teams he joined and didn’t build around him. 29 years old. Yeah that would threaten Lebron’s legacy.

I really dislike Marcus Morris, but man he's good on the Clips. Able to switch with PG and Kawhi on def, and 40% from three on offense. Plus has a bit more skills (they're posting him up a little to initiate offense). Mix with when Beverly is in there and that's just a ridiculous defensive team.

Meh Kawhi wasn’t even an All Star in 2014 and averaged 13/6 on the season. Yeah it added a title to his resume but when you talk “legacy” it’s more about being THE guy on a championship team IMO. That said, Lebron is running out of years fast at this point and Kawhi has plenty of prime years in the tank.

Yeah but in the finals he shot 62%/58% while also guarding Lebron
