The best player in the league was the best player in the Finals? No way.

The Heat had the best three players in that series and lost 4-1 in part because Kawhi stepped up on both sides of the court. Who else would have been the MVP? Lebron for not getting swept?
 
like what is going to happen to lebron's legacy? he'll be behind kawhi? not a million years. maybe it's kind of like federer losing to nadal more often than not but being historically better, though i don't even think kawhi will be top 5 all time status like nadal is.

lebron is going to finish 2nd in MVP voting this year and led the league in assists... he's looking like tom brady longevity. his all time stat ranks are going to be stupid when he retires. he'll be 1st in all time points, probably 3rd or 4th in all time assists depending on CP's longevity as they both will pass everyone other than stockton and kidd, top 10 all time in steals, top 40 all time in rebounds. and he'll be like 1st all time in everything playoffs.
 
Tom Brady wouldn’t have GOAT status without all those rings.

C’mon man. If Kawhi gets his 3rd ring before 30 and going through Lebron for two of them, that is huge.
 
Granted I picked the Clips to win it all, but they don’t look good. Kawhi willed them to victory last night (as he should). But the Mavs have looked like the better team for good portions of the series. I wonder if some part of Kawhi wishes he was still in Toronto at this point

Doubtful. There’s still time for PG to improve. Pat Bev will be back. Harrell needs to get into form. The Clips have the most talent and they will be fine. I like the Nugs and Jazz but neither has a player who can give the Clips fits like Luka. The Clips should win over either and have time to get it together before the Lakers.

last i checked lebron has rings. lebron's team is the one seed in these playoffs. how about the hypothetical of lebron winning this one for his 4th ring on 3 different teams while having no HCA for the entire playoffs.

“All those rings” not half of those rings. Six rings gets you GOAT status like Brady and Jordan. Five gets you generational status like Duncan and Kobe.

Feel free to ask about your hypothetical but that’s not what we are talking about. Kawhi is more likely to get a ring this year and one more ring overall anyway.
 
i brought up tom brady about his longevity, you conflated that with a GOAT argument. brady is still good at 43.

you are on crack if you think the clips beat the lakers in the WCF this year that there is now an argument that kawhi is a better all time player.

Read the article I posted re: how Lebron did with Kawhi guarding him vs rest of the Spurs.

And that’s it. Disappointing. I thought the Blazers had momentum and would show up bigger than this.
