DJ is starting too.

Ok, let me put it this way: I am disappointed with DJ Moore and think we still need a WR1.

And 3/4 of the first round QBs picked this year aren't starting, actually.

The list I was referring to was WRs drafted in the 1st round from 2015-18. A comparable list of 1st round QBs is far more accomplished than the list of WRs. That's my point.

In an attempt to clarify the actual point: my position is that Moore has not lived up to the organization's reasonable expectations for a first round draft pick, which is to be your franchise WR#1. I say that because I believe we still need a top receiver.

Old Gold Beard pointed out that a lot of other first round WRs have not met that expectation. I responded that you can use the same logic for quarterbacks - where you are clearly expecting to get your franchise QB by using a first round selection on him.

Ph says that you cannot make a similar list of quarterbacks. I think he's right that first round QBs have recently had more success than first round WRs. But that's not really my point. My point is what the standard should be to analyze whether the pick was good or not, and not the likelihood of said pick being good. If first round WRs are overwhelmingly busts, that's on the franchise for taking one.

I'd argue he 100% met or exceeded the franchises expectations last year with Kyle Allen as his starting QB

People made the same "we still need a true #1 WR" when we had Smitty.

He's suffered from the quarterback situation. He also has 6 touchdowns in 32 games as our best receiver.

Steve Smith is the obvious comparison, and it took him a long time to become a great receiver. Maybe DJ just needs more time to develop. I'm not advocating for cutting him.

It's not like he even put up his numbers as the focal point of the offense last year so he got his stats by default out there. Everything went through CMC, he was the third option. This argument is insane. DJ is that dude.

Haters gonna hate.

I am disappointing in Curtis though. The guy has so much potential but he can quite get it together. He had an awful game yesterday, blown routes and drops.

No it didn't, Steve established himself in his second season. DJ is a solid WR1 right now

Stop just stop.

Huh? DJ had better stats across the board than Smitty by their second seasons. Smitty established himself as a return man but it took until his third year to be a legit starting WR.

Do you think teams spend a lot of time game planning for DJ? I don't. Is he ever double teamed? Very rarely, if ever. I'd say the answer would be a resounding "yes" for most of the top WRs in the game. On the eye test, DJ looks like what I hoped Curtis Samuel would be in college. A good RB turned WR. Unfortunately, Samuel's success at tOSU in Urban Meyer's Percy Harvin role has yielded even less success than Harvin in the NFL.

I do think Anderson could be a great compliment to Moore, though, and still think our WR corps could be sneaky good this year.

Steve Smith had a good third season, but his fifth season is when he became the fucking man. I said it took him a long time to become a "great" receiver. I don't think Smith was "great" until his fifth year.

so apparently the panthers decided not to renew the spanish broadcast guy because he's a trump supporter? hmmmm.

Former track star, 4.36-40, fastest DB at the combine, elite corner Darius Slay ran 21.89 mph on that play to catch Moore, who clocked in at "only" 20.15 mph. This graphic includes only ball carriers, but only five runners had clocked times of better than 21.89 last year.

They don't run the 40 at the combine with a ball in their hands. You run faster without the ball.

I'm astonished that some of you don't think Moore is a #1 receiver and/or he has great speed. WTF? He didn't have a great game Sunday, but that's one game. Damn, we really are wake fans aren't we? We can turn negative faster than any cross section of humans on earth. first game of the season with new QB, no pre-season games and on and on. Moore will be killing it this season.

And as for Brady's 4th down call, just IMO but I think Brady called that because it was the least expected call just about that a guy like him with his rep could make. I think he thought it would surprise the Raiders and that the whole world was expecting CMC to get the ball. We all remember when that happened with last season on 4th down when the whole stadium knew CMC was getting the ball on a make it or break it 4th down. It didn't work with Armah, but I can kind of see what he was thinking. Low risk and keep the clock moving, and thought it would surprise. I was impressed with Brady.

I focused a lot on Brown and that guy is a monster. he was getting past his blocker often, but the play went the other way. he shoved those Raider O-linemen around like they were children. My nephew is in the Raiders front office and he said the Raiders staff were all about Brown being hard to handle after the game.

first game, bunch of new folks - relax.

2020 Carolina Panthers - Week 1 vs. Raiders

The WR1 for this team is CMC. He gets WR1 targets and has a WR1 contract. DJ is fine as a second option.

It’s a shame dude got involved in a cult.

“Among them: Posts advancing QAnon, the convoluted, pro-Trump conspiracy theory involving a shadowy group of Democratic pedophiles. (“If people really find out what QAnon is,” he says, “I think that more people would be on board because we are nothing but love and truth. All we’re trying to do is just wake up people.”)”

Feel free to be a Trump supporter but don’t spout rehashed 100 year old anti-Semitic conspiracies online.
