Wake Forest Basketball Recruiting: Juke Harris Commits!!

Also, I'm very curious about level of competition. Like I said, I'm as excited about Cam as any recruit we've reeled in for 2021. Still, I'd love insights from anyone who has a pulse on this, or a comparison.

"London Calling" should make for great pre-game music.

So it looks like we have two elite (or potentially elite) point guards for 2020-21. That is sweet! College is such a guard driven game that I'm really excited about both of these guys.

If we take 5 guys this cycle then my guess is either Wilkins or Adams would transfer out. Any chance Wilkins could graduate after this season and find a home as a GT? Obviously it's shitty for a fan to speculate about a player transferring who wants to play for us but if we take 5 then it's worth the discussion. If I hadn't heard so many positive comments on Tariq Ingraham then I'd say he's a possibility but we need bigs.

Since creamy brought it up, The potential transfer target is pointed squarely at Adams. This was not a good week for him in regards to his playing time at WFU. Plus, fair or unfair, he is the most recent Danny Manning high school recruit and Forbes has shown in a brief time that he is recruiting at an entirely different level than Manning was at the end of his losing tenure.

Way too early to speculate about potential transfers. We'll have a MUCH better idea about whom on the current roster "fits" and who doesn't after watching a few games this season.

Feels like playing time is wide open with a new coach and (hopefully) a new style.

The players will distinguish themselves, or they'll get the hint.

He dropped 35 in a 3 point win against a team from Barcelona in the Adidas Euroleague next gen tournament. Only player on his team in double figures, the second highest scorer in the game had 14. If that's not willing a team to victory idk what is. I assume the showcase level in the Adidas next gen tournament is somewhat comparable to elite high school ball in the states, maybe not quite AAU level. Hard to be sure what level of competition he's at but European basketball has produced some stars of late, and he certainly passes the eye test on youtube. Looking at the rosters of the teams he plays against in England, there's a lot of former low end D1 and D3 guys mixed in with a few former D1 starters from low and mid majors. From a physicality standpoint it's good that he can compete with former college athletes in their mid and late 20s.

I was also thinking about Adams after the commitment today. He's known to be underrated in Jersey and one of my buddies saw him scrimmage with our team on his official and said he was one of the best players on the floor. He's not going to be at the level of McCray and Whitt but he could potentially make a place for himself on the team ahead of a guy like Williamson.

So much can happen, really hard to know who will defy expectations and improve or disappoint. That said, these days there is roster turnover each year in every program; so, it's safe to assume that not every player with eligibility will return in 2021-2 regardless of how the upcoming season plays out.

Williamson obviously has the advantage of playing in Forbes' system for two years.

My thoughts turned to Williamson. He has the relationship with Forbes but it's understandable if he thinks he has been recruited over after arriving on campus. I have no idea about his academic standing but he could be a candidate to transfer out as a grad transfer at some point.

Williamson has already put up good numbers for a good team. He has less to prove than incoming players. And he came back home. No way would he transfer.

FWIW, while ETSU's bench was a little short this past year, in his previous seasons leading ETSU, Forbes used a pretty deep rotation of players. His 2017-8 and 2018-9 team pretty much used a 9 to 10 man rotation in most of their games. Seems like if you can play, Forbes is pretty good at using his bench.

Both of these guys have some real swagger. We may have a really good backcourt again. Hopefully a more functional version of Ish and Teague.

Wake is almost certainly going to have some roster attrition (most teams do) but it's way too early to speculate who it could possibly be. There'll almost certainly be players who surprise & others who disappoint, especially with a new coach & playing system.

Hildreth was impressive on tape. His comfort and ability to use both hands was unusual. A lot of his drives started going left with the left hand and staying with it through the shot. He looks relentless offensively. He even showed some pressure on defense. This appears to be a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. And to think some of you were worried about Forbes recruiting ability. Stay tuned, it's not over.
