Where were you? We might’ve driven by.

we were at a place called hurricane campground.. right off the AT, but my GPS took me some wacky way there in a single track washed out dirt road.. it was pretty cool spot near a stream though

he would shower everytime he took a dump.

I had a friend in high school who advocated for this.

I don't know that I really disagreed with him... I mean, I at least can see his point.

But I always thought that it was an odd thing to feel strongly about in high school. And talk about openly.

This is mandated by my wife, so I don't have a choice. But I agree that it is necessary.

Our cleaning people come today which means it’s clean sheets day and I’m already looking forward to going to bed tonight.

Just get a bidet instead.

Question to the group - if you had lots of money would you pay someone to wash and change your sheets every day? Or do you think the great feeling of clean sheets would be eroded away if you experienced it daily?

i have a high school son who advocates this, but I learned last week that apparently this is because he doesn't wipe his ass if he takes a dump pre-shower. We were hugely grossed out

Holy fucking shit. I don't even know how to respond to this.

TP T's and P's, I guess?

We drove right by you, big guy. Love Mt. Rogers and Grayson Highlands. That's just such an exceptionally beautiful area. Did you see any of the huge horse ride that was taking place? There were horse trailers lined up for a couple miles on the side of the road near the horse camp not far from your area.

So there's got to be a lot of early Oscar buzz for Maria Bakalova, the actress who played Borat's daughter Tutar based on her outstanding performance and the lack of competition. I was convinced that she actually ate the monkey.

Are they having the Oscars this year or not ?

i love grayson highlands

though we have gotten a tent trampled from the wild horses that run thru

did the Grayson Highlands/Mt Rogers trip several times in college

didn't do any backpacking growing up and those trips got me hooked

diversity of landscape/topography is pretty awesome for a small area

damn, we had plenty of smores to share too AND you could have met two other boardsters

it was really really pretty out there for sure.. weather wasn't too bad since it only rained at night so we got plenty of good chilling time + hiked on the AT some near the campground

we didn't see the huge horse ride :(

think i'm gonna try to plan a trip next year around actually doing the creeper trail while up there

oh man, just remembering one Easter weekend at Grayson where we got bigly snowed on and had to get cars to drive us out

did they take you back that way going out too? lol

the ride south was probs easier but I didn't have cell service for a solid hour into it

We do a burly man backpacking trip up to Mt. Rogers every January. It’s only a 3 day trip, but we always pack supplies for at least 6, because there’s a significant chance that you can get snowed in and stuck. Weather can get crazy quickly and without warning up there. It lets me embrace all the worst aspects of my toxic masculinity, though.
