CBM: X-Men '97; Deadpool and Wolverine trailer

I got around to watching the second Jay and Silent Bob movie over the weekend. It's always amusing having Ben Affleck in these movies.

Disney's giving info from Investor Day on this thread. I've posted a specific tweet relevant for this thread:

Notable absence in that tweet is Marvel feature films.

What they're lacking in Marvel details they're making up for with Star Wars. Good lord.

Maybe the most significant one:

They’re on a short break. They’re coming back soon with Disney animation, Pixar, and Marvel.

If it’s 10 Marvel shows, we already know 8 so they’ll be announcing two today.

In production:
WandaVision
Falcon & the Winter Soldier
Loki
Hawkeye
Ms. Marvel
What If?

That we know about:
Moon Knight
She-Hulk

Marvel is up now.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier debuts in March.

Basically confirmed that Spiderman 3 includes the Multiverse by saying WandaVision ties into it.

WandaVision - January
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - March
Loki - May

Wow.

No date for Ms. Marvel, but there was some footage and Ms. Marvel will be co-starring in Captain Marvel 2.

Hey now

So four live action Marvel series and three films debut next year. I think What If debuts next year as well.

Six more live action series to come.

Yeah. It was pretty nuts. Disney+ plans to air 100 series a year. The whole presentation was brief descriptions of new content with a few teasers and trailers and a few breaks and it took over 2.5 hours.

Tangentially related... Chris Evans will voice Buzz Lightyear. Damn Hollywood elites keeping down a good God fearing Trumper.

Not sure whether I should read those Thor comics with Gorr or go into my first Marvel movie ever where I have no prior knowledge of the villain. I've got plenty of time to figure that out.

Wonder what their price point will be in a year or two. With limited movie tent pole potential they'll look to find another way to cash in.

The price is going up to $7.99/mo in March.

So much to digest.

Hawkeye debuts "Late 2021"

I wonder if this will tie in to Ironheart and possibly introduce Cassie Lang as Stature. Maybe bring in Ms. Marvel as well or set up Young Avenge

She-Hulk series will bring back Hulk and Abomination.

Very excited about this. I love Mark Ruffalo but Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors. I hate that he got recast but understand he was difficult to work with. I wonder if they will recast Abomination or if it will still be Tim Roth. The end of that film also introduced the Leader and hopefully we get more of that.

Secret Invasion series featuring Nick Fury and Talos

This seems odd to be a series. I fully expected it to be hooked in to the larger cinematic universe but it's a great story to tell. I'm curious how it will work given that the Skrulls seem to be good guys right now.

Ironheart series

Yassss.

Armor Wars series featuring War Marchine

I wonder if this will introduce Arno Stark. War Machine has had a romance with Captain Marvel so I wonder if she'll play a role in this too.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special Holidays 2022

Can't be worse than Star Wars Holiday Special, right?

I am Groot shorts

I hope it's 5 minutes of Groot saying "I am Groot."

Thor: Love and Thunder - Christian Bale playing Gorr the God Butcher.

I'm not familiar with Gorr but I'm excited about this movie. I think the first two Thor movies were dull but they finally found their voice in the third one.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Did I read somewhere that this movie would introduce Kang? Or was that just a rumor? Either way, Ant-Man is probably my favorite underrated hero. These movies are just fun.

They aren't recasting T'Challa or pushing Black Panther back.

I think that's probably for the best. I really wish they hadn't killed off Killmonger. I think they could have worked it so that he took over the mantle and reformed. I'm very curious to see what the next movie will look like. Shuri is great but I'm not sure she can carry the movie.

Fantastic Four directed by Jon Watts

This is the thing I'm most excited about. FF is one of my favorite franchises and I hope we finally get a solid film out of this franchise.

Feige specifically said Tim Roth was back as Abomination.

Over the next three years, we're getting the following:
--10 live action series
--1 animated anthology (What If?)
--1 holiday special
--1 shorts
--11 feature films (those listed above plus Spider-Man 3 which Feige mentioned)

I assume we are going to be getting other Sony films in the MCU as well including a Spider-Man 4 in 2023.

With new shows premiering in January, March, and May, it looks like there will be brand new Marvel content every week through the end of June. Then Shang-Chi premieres July 9. Hawkeye will premiere in late 2021. Add in the Star Wars content which we know will include Disney Gallery Mandalorian Season 2 and Mandalorian Season 3.

So it looks like we will get new Star Wars and Marvel content for at least 40-45 weeks of the year.
