NFL 2020-2021 Season Superbowl LV: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, QB Tom Brady Champs!

Brady with COVID. Blaine Gabbert to start. Betting frozen.

That’s awesome. Kordell Stewart paved the way for the current generation of QBs who have to be mobile just to play the game.

These fuckers always get away with this shit

I texted a Bears fan buddy a tweet saying the Bears have the biggest offer for Wentz. Apparently, he's been doom scrolling rumors for the last 25 minutes to find that the Bears have offered two 1st and a player for Wentz. I don't think Wentz is any better than Trubisky at this point.

I think wentz is way better and his ceiling is top 5 qb

but his contract is huge and it feels more likely than not that he doesn’t reach his ceiling

How is this even possible? Is he just giving up money or can they somehow kick the can again?

Yes, they can just kick the can down the road another year. Convert his 21 salary to signing bonus, spread out over however many years are in the new contract.

What's even more ridiculous is that if a player retires, he can still have a hit on a team's salary cap. How the NFLPA allows this shows how weak they are.

This also happens when a player is traded. Part of what might keep Wentz in Philly for at least another year.

This retirement cap hit will eventually catch up with Brees and the Saints. However, they are guessing that the cap will be larger when that day happens. Right now they get 21 million to sign players to try to win a superbowl with Brees. Salary cap management at its finest.

Agree that's the Saints plan, and they're well run. Their consistent problem in recent years is Brees' noodle has failed them come playoff time. I think they keep Winston on a cheap 1 year prove it contract, which he'll sign because he needs to have a year without picks and where better to do that than with Payton.

I was about to post this insanity as well. There's no rational reason that a team that trades a player should have any hit on their communistic salary cap. Another perfect example of the players union being totally inept and cowardly.

Of course no one wants the virus but after today what’s the testing point? Testing was in place to make the season happen and keep from having half the league infected.

Season is over tomorrow so the impact of any positive cases would only be perception and not affect the season or revenue.

If the main concern was health you would also test on monday and maybe Tuesday for contact tracing in case some one was infected but the test on Sunday missed it. Of course, I guess the players will be less careful after the game making that a little suspect as well.

Wentz may be way better but that’s not saying much.

Who out of these qb’s does wentz have a higher ceiling then?

Mahomes, Lamar, Allen, burrow, Herbert, Watson? And that’s just the afc not counting tua who has a higher ceiling imo or any player who is arguably better (Carr/tannehill) or any incoming rookie.

Wentz may be better than tru but he is not close to being worth the value rumored to be given up for him.

Gotta think if there is a 2 1sts on the table for Wentz it would be done. Never discount Ryan Pace to be horrible, but there is no way the return should the same as Stafford unless the Bears are getting a similar salary relief.

Would trades be more or less likely if the player came off the sending team's books completely and the cap hit etc. was transferred to the receiving team. Under this scenario, I could see some salary cap hit trades.
