RJ gets his wish.

Sorry to see Ian DuBose leave Wake.

So, instead of having a large, potentially deep roster, Wake BB will only have, at most, one over limit scholarship player. And right now, a lot of ????? instead of actual players.

Forbes has serious work to do to fill those ????? with competent basketball players.

"At least 2 bigs!" should be the mantra. Ody can't play down low all by himself.

With Tariq being a Covid long hauler, anything he contributes will be a pleasant surprise. I don't think Wake can count on him until proven otherwise. He has played only 25 minutes total in official basketball games in the last two years.

The official site has him listed as a rSoph for 2021-2022. I think they "class aged" everybody, even though this 2019-2020 season doesn't "count" for eligibility years used.

Jalen Johnson not listed either.

Love Hoard in that picture above... That might be the exact second he realized what he was in for at Wake.

yeah, I posted that pic in part because I believe it perfectly encapsulates the Hoard "era"

BTW, will be curious to see where Massoud, Neath, Okpomo, Adams and Wilkins land and how they do next year and thereafter.

Ugh.. Another year of seeing former Wake Forest players in the NCAA Tournament instead of current Wake Forest players in the NCAA Tournament Field of 64.

FWIW, don't think Ingraham has been cleared yet; so, it's premature to be counting on him for next year.

With 200 player minutes available in a college basketball game, we have now lost about 100 of those per game minutes from the roster.

That's a lot of available minutes for anyone that would like to join the team!

Hildreth / McCray / LaRavia / Ingraham aren't going to fill those minutes on their own.

And that still assumes 25 for each of the 4 returning players (probably not a stretch).

I could see Okpomo developing somewhat like Tyler Cavanaugh did, becoming a good to great player after spending time at a mid-major.

Teddy Allen entering portal. Grad transfer from Nebraska who dropped 41 on Penn State earlier this season.

I don't think he played poorly in 4 of the last 5. I'd say 2 good, 2 bad, and 1 ok. I'd also submit that the entire team played "piss poorly"... Not sure why you'd just focus on DuBose (though I think you also like to rip on Williamson and Whitt).

We do need shooting. We also had real issues with driving to the basket, which Ian helped with (when healthy). Frankly, we need a lot of things.

I'm not trying to tell Forbes how to allocate minutes... I just think we need all of the talent we can get, and DuBose won't take up a scholarship. I'd be shocked if the 5 new players we bring in are all better than he is.

Hate to sat this but the no driving to the hole after the first few games and no back cutting is about offensive designs more than the players.

If what the people are saying would be true, DuBose wasn't going to count our scholarships. If you read what Forbes said, it looks like he agreed with me.

That Hoard picture...If one picture accurately described the last 10+ years of Wake Basketball that's certainly it.

Another year in college at age 22 wasn't going to get Dubose drafted by an NBA team. I think Forbes was straight with him that his job as coach is to develop players and build the program and that he would do everything he could with the remaining space available on the roster to bring in the best players possible for the future of the program and that he would be competing with LaRavia for minutes.

And who knows - he might have a line on a professional opportunity that may or may not be there next year.

I'm catching big Phlandrous vibes. I think the Mckie connection gets him to WS

can we field a 5 man scholarship team at this point

That is good question. Those wanting a complete roster over haul are getting it. Unfortunately I think this is going to be a long rebuild and we're going to have to be patient. That's pretty damn hard when we've been waiting 10+ years already, but I think Forbes may be the guy, but it's going to take more time.

Johnson was ass bruh. Forbes had to scramble last off season to put a roster together and he succeeded given the circumstances.

Now he has kept all of the pieces who can actually play in this league and has 5 scholarships to fill with over 700 transfers out there and counting.

Depending on who we get in the market, I think we will be better a lot sooner than some of you think. This is working out perfectly for Wake.

That is exactly how many are on the roster for 2021-2022 right now - including Tariq. Three more known incoming - Hildreth, Mcray and transfer LaRavia.

Forbes needs to find five guys to come to Wake and play. At least two of them need to be bigs if he expects to do better than this season.
