BillBrasky Memorial Political Chat Thread

Saw quite a few yards with fading trump and confederate shit still up in rural NC this weekend. Many of these folks went all in on Trump with whatever passion that a life of stubborn ignorance and corresponding struggles had not yet beaten out of them. I think they don’t have enough left to change course so I suppose they’ll go down in flames as pitiable hate filled assholes while the world moves on past them.

I also think some of them are too lazy to clean up their shit because there were a lot of Christmas decorations still up too.

Oh yeah, absolutely.

But the fact that they've decided to anointed Trump as their conservative strongman hero is extra pathetic. I could beat the shit out of Donald, Eric and Junior in one sitting, and I've never been in a fight in my life. At least if it was a war hero or Chuck Norris I could kind of understand how their dumb brains would flock to him.

Yeah they love doing images of him on a Harley or with big guns holding big guns, but in reality, he's about the most fragile person on Earth who has spent his life living in high rise New York buildings, wearing suits and makeup, watching celebrity gossip on TV and riding in the back of limos. has he ever ridden anywhere in a pickup truck? when was the last time he got mud on his clothing? ever fired a gun other than some skeet shooting?

The people in town were glad we visited. /shrug

I'm not sure the brewery owners were of the same mindset as some of the people around them.

Ultimately, they can blow it out their ass because Trump's not the president, and probably never will be again.

You don't seem very fond of them either.

progressives be like

I'm seeing Manchin wants the voter rights bill to be "bipartisan." If giving them voter ID in exchange for everything else gets it done, would that be acceptable? Could the lower minority turnout due to voter ID laws be offset by protecting their actual rights to vote and ensuring access to more voting locations, more hours, and mail in ballots?

I'll go for voter ID in exchange if there's roving ID stations that regularly visit all areas and they fund transport to polling stations.

Why even need to fun the transport if mail in balloting is an option?

The ID would need to be 100% free to the voter. Love the idea of roving ID stations.

When TX put in an ID law they also closed hundreds of places where people could get them.

How many states will give them away for free and make getting them easy for poor people?

If Voter IDs aren't 100% free, they are a poll tax. If you don't pay for it, you don't get to vote. That is the definition of a poll tax.

I’d be fine attaching a national ID program and voter ID requirement for this bill. Republicans would be against it though.

Why do you say that? Because they will be against literally anything? Or because it will cost money?

Every penny a state or federal agency spends on IDs is 99.9999999 % wasted finding a "solution" for a "problem" that doesn't exist.

Something that is easier than placing a bet after a race is over would be betting if every person in America was given an ID that the GOP would find other ways to suppress the votes of minorities.
