Republican Voter Suppression Efforts

That's a good article. It does a good job of describing the GOP MO as making up problems and "solving" them as a way to distract and maintain their base.

straight out of the goebbels playbook

“Today's statement by Delta CEO Ed Bastian stands in stark contrast to our conversations with the company, ignores the content of the new law, and unfortunately continues to spread the same false attacks being repeated by partisan activists.”

Why are Republicans talking to an airline about voting rights to begin with?

How odd... I thought Joe Biden was a big proponent of the truth.

Tell us, Angus, why Georgia Republicans passed this law to start with? They've said they did it to "restore confidence" in the election system after last year's election - yet all the evidence indicates that there was no significant vote fraud or abuse in Georgia, either in the presidential election or the special Senate elections later. Do you believe that the election in Georgia was stolen from Dear Leader, or that there was vote fraud so great that a sweeping new law was needed? Do tell.

Some Republican legislator from Arizona on NPR this afternoon couldn't (or refused to) explain why confidence has dropped and these bills are needed.

Yeah didn’t the governor and GA Sec of State receive a lot of shit from the previous president for consistently arguing how fair and accurate the GA elections were?

i can't read the article, if someone can give me more details.

on face value that does seem to be a government retaliation against free speech. which, based on my understanding, is illegal.

lawsuits forthcoming...

Also, the GOP seems willing to openly accepting of bribes. Offer perks to us/our supporters (NRA discount) and we will pay you back with tax breaks.

Yep. Allowing an NRA discount is ostensibly a pro-gun political stance. There's no reason why NRA membership would warrant a discount as opposed to ACLU or NAACP or any other political organization.

Also that "bite the hand that feeds you" quote is pretty telling because it directly contrast Republican orthodoxy that government shouldn't "feed" business.

Not to mention that it also makes a mockery of all the GOP whining and complaints about cancel culture. As long as they are in control of who is being cancelled and punished they seem perfectly happy with it.
