I'm on the HMO plan cause of $avings, so I see the same primary care doc

men, do you see one doctor on a recurring basis or do you just go to a doctor's office and see a random doctor when you need a checkup? I can't seem to find someone who just does general medicine so I end up going to a big doctor group and see whoever has time on their schedule. Now that i'm getting older it seems like it might be time to get a regular physical with the same person.

I look for a female doctor who went to a top medical school. If she's in a group, then I have them make a note to schedule me just for her and no other doctors. I think consistency is crucial.

I would not have gone to the lengths I do if I had not attended professional school. It is my belief that there are a great number of people practicing medicine and law that shouldn't be allowed to do so. I think limiting the graduating institution limits that, but doesn't eliminate it.

but you'd go to a male doctor if you thought there was something actually wrong with you, right?

on my adventure of becoming sober from my deadly chapstick addiction - I made the switch two weekends ago from Burt's Bees to Aquaphor and hot diggity dog is it a world of difference. I accidentally threw away the Aquaphor one night at a bar last week and had to use Burt's since it is what I had laying around the house. It dried my lips out so much and made them start peeling. Needless to say I bought a couple of things of Aquaphor to have around the house.

It will also work great on your diaper rash.

This is relevant content for the Creamy household. My wife and I burn through hundreds of Burt's a year. Might try your aquaphor method to see if we can sober up as well.

what is wrong with burts bees

also man up and just have some damn chapped lips once in a while snowflake

Naw, dog. Women make better doctors. Also, if I were black, I would insist on a black woman. There's super weird but scientifically supported psychology on this shit.

I've had a woman doctor for the last decade and she essentially doubles as a therapist. I'll go in there and just bitch about anything you can think of and she's all cool about it,.

I can see maybe pediatrics or like being able to take notes for the real doctor..... but the adult body is pretty frickin complex bro

I use it significantly less than I used burts.

@diggler - not sure if there’s anything wrong with it, but the google says that Burt’s Bees has some ingredients that actually dry lips out. And chapped lips are for the popes. I’m a poor, but I like a life a luxury like everybody else.

The fact that you had to address this to men is amusing. I have a guy at Tryon. He's OK. I haven't seen him in a long time though, as he seemed to always want to just refer me to specialists for any sort of problem, even minor stuff. Kind of an unnecessary middle man relationship.

Pre-COVID I went in for an annual checkup as part of my plan, but it's been about two years since I've been in for that. I also see a guy at Tryon. He's really skinny and thinks that my ideal weight is about 165 lbs, which is BS. I saw a female doc over there a couple of weeks ago for a foot problem who I really liked, but I doubt she'd be cool with giving my my annual prostate check.

I've been riding the HMO savings train but it's gotten too frustrating that I'm switching next open enrollment to the PPO

Yeah, it's annoying. But the cost would be double cause my wife is on my plan. So it's like an extra couple grand even if I don't get sick, and when I do get sick its up to like $5,000/less/year. but my wife hates the HMO, especially. I'll switch eventually.

My wife and I are on separate plans because my plan is so expensive to bump up to the family.

With kid #2 in daycare we will barely break even on her job but for the 401(k) match and healthcare.

LOL. I’m sure she’s a professional and could care less about your junk.
