yeah, we are different in our beliefs but it turns out a lot of it is for the worse

Seriously. Idk why I’m even engaging. In the same post jh brags on American values and beliefs and then says they cause him enough fear to build an arsenal for self defense. I guess I like marveling at his shameless shilling the party line in every single wedge issue even when it apparently makes him fear for his life.

Before the mah firearms crowd flames me for wanting to ban all guns, I do not. Every poster here talks about their responsible gun ownership. Shouldn’t we have more responsible ownership so you don’t have to fear for your life?
 
Seems like we are all scared of people with guns. If we had a reasonable society, we could all agree that reducing the number of people with guns is a good thing.

Close. I'm concerned about irresponsible people with guns. The right approach would be to deny the irresponsible people access to guns.

Can you give some examples of irresponsible gun owners and how to identify them before they hurt someone?

I think more than one of us on this thread talked about our parents just giving us guns when we were young and then just turning us loose on the world. Maybe we should start by taking the guns away from our parents.

JH: actually, we should probably just give out more guns so the parents will be sure to be armed even while their kids are out playing with guns

People who have passed the required training course to obtain a CCH permit and comply with the laws about carrying firearms exhibit responsible gun ownership.

yeah, and you don't need anything except for a period of existence on the planet to obtain long guns. i guess 'staying alive long enough' is a measure of responsibility

Did you find the CCH class rigorous? I assume that you've taken the class, as have I, and you know that it's a huge joke.


Of course, my mom, being a responsible gun owner, no longer takes her handgun to dinner because she wants to have wine with her meal.
 
and aren't certain states like Tennessee and maybe Texas passing laws where you don't need permits to carry?
