That Aston was a whole lot of car. Took me a minute to get used to it.

i submitted my passport renewal in june. I still don't have it back and am supposed to leave for europe 3 weeks from today. Getting annoyed and now I have to pay someone to go expedite it.

So I'm engaged in a pretty epic battle of the wills right now with the 6yo. She wants to dress up as Belle for Halloween, and she wants me to be the Beast, but there's no way in hell I'm not gonna be Gaston. He's pretty much my hero.

Jorts, crocs, mullet wig, and Gators t-shirt is always a can't-miss costume.

Heading to Richmond. Top five least favorite cities to travel to. I might drop it out of the top five if I can find a really good taco joint

So that John Lennon was a real piece of shit, huh?

what are the other 4?

Greensboro, St. Louis, Phoenix, Atlanta, and Kansas City are prob my least favorite 5. I kind of want to sub Phoenix out for Boston, but I think that's because i don't like people from Boston vs an issue with the city itself.

I don't ever travel for work, but I freakin' loved Phoenix and I always enjoy Atlanta as well. St Louis was pretty fun and thankfully I've never had to go to Kansas City. My brother lived in Boston for a couple years and I really dug that town as well. Richmond sucks though.

What's the trick to doing rental cars/get the most loyalty/bang for the buck? Got a trip to Portland planned next month. Got the business class seats for points, getting like half off on the hotel by using the annual amex platinum $200/credit + $100 of free stuff.... but now I'm trying to get a rental car for 3 days and it's like $700

What is your question? Are you looking for the best deal on a rental car, or asking the best way to build loyalty points to get better deals down the line?

Rental car prices are insane right now and I don't know when that will improve. There is very little availability, so they can charge unusually high rates.

I've always used Hertz... You probably pay more up front, but I find that I get a lot of free days with my points. Works best to pay for rentals during the week and then use the points for weekend trips. But that's more a function of my work paying for my business travel and points having more value on the weekend, so YMMV.

I played pick-up with my high school kids for an hour and a half yesterday and then went home and mowed the lawn and I am legit having trouble getting out of my chair this morning.
