Oh shit, reading up about the billboards, how did the Stratton's get all the credit?

Hasn't the asian american community faced enough blatant discrimination at the hands of DJT and his ilk? This RSF attack on the community is uncalled for!!!

I am trying to learn some new songs. I’ve played/sang the same 10 songs on guitar for like 10 years, king of carrot flowers, range life, I will survive, Yoshimi…etc. working on Car by built to spill tonight and it is much easier than I expected.

do you know freebird

I'd probs assume car is one of the easier bts songs tbh

I started with the Big Dipper song and moved on to Car. Big Dipper is easy too except the “whyyyyyyyyyyygyyyyyyy” and the end sounds fucking awful. Doug’s voice is much higher pitched than mine.

do you know freebird

Oh man, I played freebird on drums back in college with a guy named Eric roberts on guitar. He would play the whole solo, all three guitar parts, all by him self. That dude could shred!

Interesting thread. Pretty solid evidence that music did actually peak my senior year and freshman year of college and it's not just my own bias.

lol the 1996 telecom act was a big part of my class a few weeks ago

I am truly fascinated by the millenial mindset of let's have personal responsibility to people for posting on messageboards designed for entertainment mindset. Do they simply fail to understand that while some people treat the internet as real life, others treat it as an escape from real life? Like does RSF really think Donkey Deac Doug should be fired from his job for making fart jokes on a messageboard?

Like RSF, I'd ask you to scroll back through your last 20 pages of posts and point to one you might think another person might find interesting or entertaining. So I'd simply ask what value do you think you provide in posting at all?

lol actually going back through them you've basically just spent 4 months talking about me and knight. I mean I knew you sucked, just didn't realize how badly until you actually read them in succession.

I went to a new stylist yesterday and she didn’t say a word after she asked how I wanted my hair. It was the best haircut experience I’ve ever had.

I think this is gets a lot right for main stream music, but there is, and has been since the 80s at least, a vibrant non-mainstream music scene where the objectives are less about money and size of the audience and more about art and connecting with an audience.

The other thing they miss in the thread is the transition to digital music happened in 98-99 with the rise of Napster and the mp3. As music went online, art focused acts needed record companies less and less because they could reach their audience more directly, so creative, inventive music no longer tried to reach the mainstream.

I think I once asked him if he would consider posting something positive. Like, just to see if he'd break the mold or whatever.

His problem is that he's categorically type A, and he perceives you and I as things outside the sphere of his control. His desire to "rein us in" flows from that.

It’s my day to quarantine with the kids. On her first day, my wife let them pretend to be “YouTube stars” so I’ve already watched roughly 30 mins of Blair Witch Project shakicam of the 6yo talking to her “vlog” while riding her razor scooter and making lemonade, interrupted on occasion by the 3yo stealing the phone and chucking it down the stairs.
