Interesting that the common thread refers to how Clemson’s D shut us down and lays a blueprint for Pitt to copy. We scored more against Clemson than anyone else and after the first quarter (which I think could be somewhat attributed to missing Jurgens and having three O-Linemen playing out of position) we moved the ball really well (when we weren’t fumbling).
What Clemson really exposed was our pathetic run defense, which isn’t really the tendency of Pitts offense. I can see them hurting us with the run and playaction, but we will see. Especially if Carson plays, our CBs might be the strength of our defense anyway.

Do we really care if we repair our relationship with billy packer? That seems like an awful lot of butt kissing and for what? Billy packer is not relevant in 2021.
because the 1Q counts and I have no idea if that same argument wouldn't apply to another team (taking away a bad quarter)
half the points came in the 4th with the game out of hand -- are all the stats against first string guys?
what I'm saying is are we comparing apples to apples?
Pitt is better than Clemsons D against run but there passing D is worse than everyone we have played in ACC except for Duke. To say it is going to be an air show is an understatement and I don’t see Pitt slowing our O down with our offensive line although they are as good as Clemson with sacks. So key will be to avoid Hartman getting abused regularly especially early on and avoid a sack that turns into a TO.

If Pitt’s passing D is not good, then they may test the refs with some early PI. Will be curious to see how it’s called and what tone is set in our first or second drive.
Could see the same strategy Grobe used vs. Megatron. Take the 15 yard PI instead of getting beat deep.
My dad and I plus DF09 and his dad were the only guys that beat you into the lot. We were waiting there for a while before they let us in tooOh yeah, it was pretty awesome. Ended up being better and bigger than the Deacon Club Tailgate. 94Deac was with us when we bought out every ounce of beer at the local Walmarket before the game. We literally had his pickup truck bed full of beer. Plus, I was interviewed by some Orange Bowl folks while drinking a beer.
Yep. If we can get a drive going, our ability to not sub wreaks havoc on defenses in preventing them from subbing as well.Clawson talked about it in one of his pressers I think but winning on first down is SO important for this offense. And then if we get a couple first downs put together we can really start to hurt teams. Limiting the three and out possessions tomorrow is critical.
TV question. I’m in the Jacksonville area for a short period, staying at a hotel. I now see, unexpectedly, that there is a dispute involving Dish that seems to have blacked out ABC, among other major networks. That seems to preclude watching the Wake game tomorrow. Any reasonable alternatives? Other than just radio? 🤬
Asked this on a different thread but do we know if beer will be sold in the stadium ?
