Recommend good stuff you've seen on Netflix streaming

Still haven’t really “seen” turning red yet but it’s been on in the background in my house since it’s been out. The kids seem to love it. One day I’ll be able to sit down and piece together all the snippets I’ve seen. Kind of like how it took me a month to see encanto.

Based on the moron Facebook mom handwringing about inappropriateness, I’ll probably like it.

also you can factor-out smart phones and social media aspect of pre teen life

Yep. That’s tough to handle although Mitchells vs. the Machines did it well.

As a Toronto Blue Jays fan, I loved seeing “SkyDome” and the Blue Jay that flew around at one point.

Enjoyed the movie.

My 7 & 5 yo like it a lot more than Encanto, which we watched once and never thought about again. But they aren’t exactly movie critics.

I thought the blue jay was a real nice touch. I like that the film had a real setting that wasn't generic city, generic fantasy past, or Manhattan.

I finally saw "The Lighthouse" and I'm blown away by everything about it - cinematography, sound, thought provoking story. The acting was pretty good too. By "pretty good" I mean some of the best I've ever seen. I'm retroactively irate that Dafoe not only didn't win the Oscar for supporting actor, he wasn't even nominated.

With "The Witch" and now this (his only 2 movies), Robert Eggers is now on the very short list of directors where I'll be certain to watch the movie once I see "a film by..." with his name attached. He just so happens to have a Viking movie coming out in a month - "The Northman". Can't wait.

"Winning Time" on HBO Max has been good through 3 episodes. I had a good conversation about the show last night with someone who isn't a sports fan. It was fascinating that basic sports knowledge could be considered a spoiler to her. She was wondering about what happened to Jerry West and if Magic got to play PG his rookie year.

I'm not watching this because the Lakers players, front office, and fans are disgusting people and it's just another example of Hollywood sucking its own dick.

Conor, feel free to share that one with Message Board Geniuses !

Jackass Forever on Paramount+. Most of the terrible stuff is done by the younger whippersnappers now. I will never tire of watching dumb people due dumb things with their junk. My wife, on the other hand, is not a fan.

Halo premiered on Paramount + last night. Doesnt seem terrible

They are the modern day Three Stooges.

Bad Vegan is just four hours of a woman telling on herself for being an idiot. Not really as wild of a story as Tiger King or some other docs on Netflix

The review I read said it was boring compared to other restaurant scandals.

Pieces of Her is pretty solid through the first few episodes...both the wife and I are enjoying.

Watching the Summer of Soul documentary and it does an excellent job of interspersing the performances with story telling
