Boxing already has weight classifications which would help address the issue.
more antitrans shit
This is dumb, if Clarissa Shields fought Canelo she would probably die or be seriously injured. Even tho they fight at around the same weight. Not to mention, if you box, you take the risk that someone will scramble your brains.
Pickle, do you have a link to the original chart? That one is blurry.

THIS. There is a safety issue inherent in this sport that is not present in other sports. If biological differences create such an inherent danger as to prevent transwomen from competing, is that the beginning of the end. Can we allow it in some sports and not others, and continue to call it fair?
You don't get into boxing with the expectation to have brain damage as DeaconSig believes. However, if a nationally ranked middleweight, similar to Lia Thomas having been nationally ranked were to fight against a woman, you could expect that to happen.
Size isn't necessarily the issue as we have seen in swimming, weightlifting and other non-combat sports. Certain sports like shooting and archery, it makes no sense to divide competition by sex. Even basketball wouldn't create such a safety issue. I do not see how a regulatory body could allow it in this specific example. Hopefully smarter people than me can figure out a way to make it work.
