We are probably going to lose LaRavia and the odds are Bacot and LaRavia end up having similar professional careers.
 
I’ve seen Love on some first round mocks. I’ve only seen Bacot in the second round on one mock.
 
Wonder how much UNC will pay Bacot next year. And how much it paid him last year.
 
Yeah, I think Bacot tested last year. He's not an NBA player. He also just turned 22.

Caleb Love and RJ Davis are both only 20 years old.

Contrast that with Jake, who is 22 years old, and you understand why I have very little hope he'll return to Wake Forest next season.
 
The amount some of these schools are going to be able to provide in NIL $ is going to separate them from the pack. Kentucky is getting the Naismith POY to return to be a collegiate millionaire. If Jake was being enticed with 6 figure deals, I’m sure he would think harder about returning.
 
I remember Bacot being a strong lean to leave, but then Kessler transferred to Auburn and Brooks went to Miss St and he was suddenly staring at a much bigger role.

Would not rule out a sweet NLI offer for Jake dependent on his return. WF is not playing the same game as KY, but WF does have some avenues to take care of its athletes as well.

Isn’t Tshiebwe projecting as a 2nd rounder?

I don’t think NIL is going to be enough to entice lottery picks and sure fire first rounders to come back. I think NIL money will be competing for the fringe guys who might go G League or Europe.

Paying them out in the open now is a whole different ball game. And the NIL money is MUCH more money than the under the table crap that has been there a long time.

Plus, illegal payments were not made to keep a borderline player to stay in school. That money went to great players to COME to your school.
 
had an Uber driver tell me, out of the blue, that his nephew, a highly rated QB, has been offered $1 million in NIL by an SEC school

I obviously have not vetted this information, other than looking up the nephew, who is indeed a 4-star class of 22 QB

same Uber driver, upon seeing my WF sweatshirt, asked me what in the hell had happened to WF basketball
