What I liked was that the broadcaster gave himself a few seconds to think about what he was going to say and he still couldn't help but to curse and face an FCC fine.
 
Yesterday I was bemoaning to the wife about the lack of good day trip spots from the DFW area, and how with infants, a 3 hour drive turns into a 5 hour drive pretty quickly. She then mentioned that Louisiana is only about a 3 hour drive away. This immediately piqued my interest. While Big Bend (in TX) and NOLA are both 7 hours away, North Louisiana may be a more manageable weekend trip.

So if anyone has some experience in Shreveport or anything up that way which I should check out. Holler at ya boy.

OK, so maybe we were a little too hard on Hilton Head Island.

Big Bend may seem only seven hours away, but once you get there it takes hours and hours and hours to drive across the park.
 
my sister lived in Shreveport for like 7 years while her husband did med school/residency and they enjoyed it enough but not sure if there are recs for those visiting. we visited at Mardi Gras and Thanksgiving and had good times, but otherwise IDK. Great Raft is a really good brewery, though.

couple good restaurants.

Have you considered an Elephant 6 pilgrimage to Ruston La? It’s just a little bit past Shreveport. You could go by the gang’s only hang outs, see the site of Olivia Tremor Control’s first house party gig, or the old “club” where Julian Kostner first met Jeff Mangum. Swing by the elementary school playground where Jeff and Robert Schneider got in a fist fight in first grade before becoming life long friends and musical partners. Listen to the college radio station where they all learned about underground music (and is referenced in Two Headed Boy) as you drive through town! Could be great fun!
