Triad restaurant comings, goings and recs

El Sabor Tabasqueno finally has their food truck and it's posting up at 801 Silas Creek. Really happy that they are going to go more consistent and establish themselves a bit more.

If you haven't heard about them, it's a birria focused "restaurant" that's based out of a house in Waughtown.

They used to be serving fairly regularly but in the last few months, they've primarily been serving only on the weekends.

This is basically the only thing written about them: https://triad-city-beat.com/secret-tacos/

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Is the food truck still operating since the recent notice from the city they couldn't operate from the house home base?

So the food truck is just now opening this Saturday. They have been still operating from the house in Waughtown even after the city told them to shut down, but with less frequency.

Anyone have opinions of Bossy Beulah's? Now that they've been open a little while, I'm ready to give it a try. For background, the Cham is the greatest chicken sandwich on Earth, and besides having a stupid service concept, Earl's sandwich was just OK. The Bojangles' Signature is better.

GO!

I've had 3 really good experiences with BB's. I thought the quality was very good and service was great when we were there. Also try Timmy's, which is next to Small Batch on 5th St.

The sandwiches at downtown Bodega in gso are dope. Not sure why anyone would get Jimmy John's at the same price point

Bossys is great I think. It's fast food essentially so be aware of that, maybe more of a high end like five guys fast food. But I think the sandwich is awesome.

Yeah, Print Works beer is nowhere near as good as the other two. Why even go?

It wasn't just about the beer and I was staying there. I thought the food was decent (one dinner), had a good bartender and a couple decent bourbons and the brunch looked good (ate at Lindley)

Probably discussed before, but no restaurant makes me happier that Blackpowder.

No idea if you're in the Triad or not, but if you are LuLu & Blu in High Point has a rotating daily risotto special that has been amazing every time we've ordered it.

I’ll be picking her up in Archdale, so that’s perfect. Thank you sir!

Hey, what is up with Slappy's Chicken? And how can I get their duros on mail order?

I feel like something happened during their big renovations and they got stuck waiting on either money or permitting or something (guessing, no inside info). Seems like they are back in action again though. I hadn't seen anyone working at the site the last 2 or 3x I got my haircut next door.

As to your second question, IDK if you are local or not, but Buies Market might be willing to ship you some for a price. They stock them pretty regularly and seem like the kind of small business that might go out of their way to help out if the order is big enough lol.

Slappy's still no place close to opening. Posted a fairly generic update on Facebook a couple weeks ago saying that they were finally getting to move forward with the renovations, but didn't give any further timetable.
