Ongoing Dem Debacle Thread: Commander will kill us all

I mean shouldn't the Attorney General have to sign off on investigations of the opposition political party and particularly during an election year?

Obviously, it's a better idea to have multiple investigations of rival presidential candidates opened with no oversight.

What’s the problem, this is just Democrats getting the pragmatic legislating that they voted for. Fuck gig workers.

Meanwhile in Missouri…

i am not a smart person but i feel like i could probably be a Senator

I think that you would likely be in the top-3rd intelligence-wise at the very least. Most of these dudes are just rich idiots who got into politics awhile ago and decided it was easier than working for a living.

True. But I think some of them who came from more modest means probably started out pretty smart but suffered the brain rot that comes with nonstop meetings with politicians, lobbyists, and fundraisers, kissing ass, and being absorbed into that culture.

I mean, Tommy Tubberville is a senator and Hershel Walker is threatening. How hard could it possibly be?

I actually don't think I've ever met a smart politician. I've met politicians who are incredible organizers, good thinking through problems at different practical levels, and who are really good at pragmatically mediating between policy differences, but I don't know how many of these dudes are actually smart.

Barack Obama and Liz Warren are the two Senators that stand out as being genuinely bright, but the rest of the "smart" folks just seem like good politicians at best?

I guess it comes down to how you define smart. I like most of the local politicians I know but based on how you’re defining it, I don’t know if they’re “smart.”
