TIL that the Soviet Union developed its own version of the Concorde, the Tupolev TU-144, that was actually the first passenger plane to fly supersonic in 1968. Holy fuck imagine how terrifying it must have been to get in that thing.

So I've had a chair for the past 18 years of my life, and I've been meaning to get it reapholstered as it's ripped up, and also faded in spots, but then like a week or two ago I guess my drunk and fat ass broke the damn thing. Now it sinks real deep and must have busted some wood underneath it. It was probably the most expensive thing I owned for a good decade of my life ($1,500 basset chair). Do I go through the bother of fixing it at this point or do I sadly let it go and grab a new one for my upcoming move in a month or two.
 
it's been a while since I looked but reupholstery work is something I have in my head as surprisingly expensive relative to what I would have guessed, like getting something framed
