Somebody brought donuts in. Put me in the fat bear challenge.

i'm not abiding by any canadian's opinions on what is livable

I'm really going to miss SLC. If the new gig goes well and the housing market crashes, maybe I'll buy a small place at the base of/in the Cottonwoods.

Re: Boulder, the money came in and pushed the hippies out, so not much boho vibe left. Lots of NIMBY-ism too, but if you could afford it, would probably be a cool place to live.

Re: Denver, lots of sprawl, true. Great pockets of dining/retail in the neighborhoods that can create a very urban experience if you live close enough to take advantage (which I do, so that's awesome). Infrastructure hasn't kept up with growth and public transit isn't very good. Also, summer air quality SUCKS out here - nobody tells you that until you move here. At least we have a river.

But also, if the housing market crashes, the new gig will likely not go well, so yeah.

Median home price in Cottonwood Heights >$800K. FML. Pay me $5K a month in rent to cover the mortgage?

My wife and I are already trying to figure out how to eventually creatively expand our home and keep the 2.5% fixed 30 year rate forever. Other than adding a 3rd story, which she insists would "not fit with the neighborhood", I don't see what we could do.

i remember there being a creek going through downtown near our hotel when i was there the first time a month ago, is that really classified as an actual river?

We have 20+ foot ceilings in our family room and our neighbors just added a bedroom and bathroom by converting that open space on the second floor. Haven’t seen it yet, but that’s our plan.

that's the one. it's large enough to be a river i'd say.

it was tiny and surrounded by cement when i saw it in august..

looking at a map now, maybe i was just on the cherry creek side of things, looked like this:

I feel like the definition of a real river means you should be able to put motorized craft in it

haha yeah, was kind of leaning that way myself

or not be navigable on foot in waders..

Should I participate in the teacher/student arm wrestling competition for homecoming or the teacher who raises the most money gets pied in the face?
