Army @ Wake Forest - 7:30 PM RSN/Bally

Wake parents are not generally college football fans, IMO. It doesn't matter who we play.
Also, true in the most part. Hopefully, WF football success changes some of that over time (lots of time).

I was a little surprised that we didn't take the starters out earlier. Really pumped for Grimes on his first college TD, he's going to be a player. Carney is pretty far down the depth chart. I'm assuming this is a red shirt year and we might see him in a couple seasons. The RB room is pretty full of young talent with Ellison, Cooley and now Claiborne.
Yeah, if Sam is going to use such poor judgement in trying to hurdle a tackler and get throw up on the air several feet when we're up 28-0 in the 2nd half, he doesn't need to be in there in that situation. I love Sam to death, but what the heck was he thinking????

He's a competitor. It came right after the unnecessary roughness penalty and the waived off targeting. He was saying FU to the Army defenders.

For those who asked, Clawson said in the post-game press conference that his green ribbon he was wearing was for Mental Health Awareness Week, so I'm guessing that was also the reason for the green gloves/socks/tape some guys had on.

I agree. That is definitely how he was feeling about it. And, to be honest, I wonder if you can coach someone not to be that way. It might diminish their fire a bit.

At the same time though, if he got injured throwing one of these blocks or jumping this way when he shouldn't, I'd lose my mind. Not to mention, and I don't know this, but if I were an NFL scout checking him out, I'd see it as a negative. Hopefully, in an NFL context he'd realize that might shorten his career a lot.

IDK. It gives me a heart attack every time.

Complaining about fans leaving the game early when the game is easily in hand is the lamest thing ever. Just appreciate the fact that they were there and (presumably) cheering for the team while the game was in question. There are a million reasons that people might need to, or want to, leave early.

Translation: I left the game early

He was saying FU to number 20 (probably saw the obvious targeting by #20 - how was that not targeting - on the Jumbotron).

Kind of like James Conner trying to take out Luvu last week.

And yes, Sam is taking too many hits in general, some on designed runs (WTF?) for like 2 yard gains.

Some are more his careless, this is my last year, I almost died etc. just going for it/a bit too reckless.

Do not like.

Since we have Key and Morin, I'd like to see us check down and sling a pass in the flat out to those guys - QUICKLY - when we know #34 is clearly being single blocked, or in the case of Liberty, they are sending the house on the edge.

That edge or out in the flat, looks wide open, but it takes us forever to get it out to the RB out there, since Sam almost always looks for WR patterns first (takes too long to do your progressions, if they are selling out blitzing).

Not the dreaded bubble screens, but some sort of quick hitter to Key or Morin - seems like they are unstoppable 1:1 in the flat.

When I'm able to attend, I've got 2.5 hours back home. So yeah, if the outcome is set and it's late- especially if my family is with me, I'm thinking about leaving early. Who cares? I'm grateful for the fan support we have and totally understand why people might want to leave early.

Got it. I was hoping it was for some sweet post-production video effects.

did your girls hang in there till the end of the game? My 6 year old did not last to the end of the Liberty game.
I ended up leaving both of them and riding solo. My wife did not relish the prospect of having to deal with both of them the next day after being out until midnight.

Also why I'm hoping for a 330 start in 2 weeks since I will also have the wife who is probably even crankier late at night.

Made it to the end with my 5 year old...which was an amazing accomplishment considering at 5pm I wasn't sure he was gonna make it to kickoff. I've learned this season that relocating from the lawn to empty seats at the start of the 4th quarter does the trick for getting him over the finish line.

Clawson's reaction to being asked about this post-game was one of my favorite moments in the Clawson era. His response was hilarious.
