Official 2022 College Football Thread: Georgia is Back to Back Champions !!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty sure Wake lost to BC in Chestnut Hill in the opener after we made the Orange Bowl. Alphonso picked off one of the first passes of the game to go up 7-0 but BC was damn good. Same day App upset Michigan and the week before the inferno Nebraska game.

You are correct sir.

i was at that BC game -- Matt Ryan came in as Heisman hopeful (frontrunner?) and threw a couple early picks

really bad non-call PI against the Deacs late that resulted in a Riley pick and killed the comeback, as I remember it

yeah I was home watching it with my dad and he's not a huge CFB fan so didn't know who :mattryan is but couldn't stand the pregame hype he was getting. Then Phonz picked the I think first pass attempt and my dad leapt up in the air pointing and laughing which is very uncharacteristic of him. the rest of the game didn't go as well.

Tebow won the 2007 Heisman. Chase Daniel was 4th in the voting, Dennis Dixon 5th, Pat White 6th and Matt Ryan was 7th.

Duke got Bama because David Shula agreed to play at Duke; I am surprised that Bama has agreed to play at BC

it is disappointing that we either can't or won't schedule better
Duke was able to get that game because Wallace Wade was a famous coach at Alabama and Duke

2006 and 2007 finished depressingly as a tOSU fan youth. Most fans are still convinced they would have waxed Mizzou or WVU in '07.

10-1 USC also lost their final game in '06 13-9 to 6-5 rival UCLA, knocking them out of the championship game. Many national pundits thought the "Game of the Century" should have been a rematch in the title game with Michigan. Florida obviously shellacked tOSU and showed they were elite. Naturally, tOSU fans feel they would have dispatched USC or Michigan.

Texas moved up 11 and OU dropped 8 and is still 8 spots above Texas. Good reminder not to take the Rugby rankings seriously.

I ain't taking no rankings seriously that put us behind Notre Dame and South Carolina

Texas is a metrics darling. On paper, they had a 38% chance of beating Alabama in post-game win expectancy and a 98% to beat Texas Tech (most unlikely actual result of the season so far).

Wow. USF was a great pull. Also yes, on KS and Mizzou (they were one of the two teams to blow it in the final weekend). Nice.
Rutgers is a no.
Haha! I remember that season because it was my senior year. I had fraternity brothers with family associated with those 4 schools so they stood out.

Kansas plays @ Oklahoma on Saturday. The game opened OU -7. A year ago, OU was favored by 38 at Kansas. Factoring in HF that is an incredible 35+ point line swing in a year.

Questions we’d never thought we’d ask:

Should we root for Oklahoma against Kansas to lower the number of one-loss P5 conference champs who could beat out Wake for a CFP bid?
