MBB Game 11: App State @ LJVM - Wednesday 7 pm - ACCN

This isn't really to take away anything from Keller. He's a freshman and will improve. But he didn't have a good game against LSU. And he wasn't able to stay in front of anyone, including big men. I like Keller and think he could be a solid contributor eventually but it's probably not going to be this year.

I have no problem with us sitting DM. He has the worst shot selection I’ve ever seen and has been devastating us lately. If he can’t play team ball, sit him. It’s one thing to hog it and be good. It’s another to hog it and be horrible and detrimental to the team succeeding.

IMHO Keller's biggest problem is a lack of strength. He has lost too many balls when he should have controlled them
If he gains 20 or so lbs. of muscle he may be able to contibute at the AVV level, otherwise a wasted scholarship.

I’ll also add that Bradford and Ituka looked fine in the first half. Where were they after that? I am trying like crazy to understand the logic behind these lineup choices and I can’t figure them out.

Forbes did a pretty good job in the last 2.3. Carr was on the inbounded. Klintman had the guy that went long and stayed with him.

On the winning play. Cam inbounds, Klintman and Marsh keep their bigs away from the hoop or double teams. Davien in the corner. Leaving Carr with a smaller guy he could shoot over.

Idiotic take. Beyond idiotic take. Wondering if you are visually impaired level take.

For those questioning lineup decisions at the 5, Bradford has been poor all year long so keep that in mind for starters. More importantly, App went small a lot in the second half, resulting in us sitting both Marsh and Bradford a lot. Both of them would have been dragged out to the perimeter and then blown past by App's smaller lineup, as did happen once with Marsh before Forbes adjusted. I agree that we could have used some more Ituka, but he's clearly playing on a minutes restriction and not 100% healthy. Cam was also having an EXCELLENT game on both ends which is the new normal for him and we were not going to see Ituka and Appleby sharing the floor. I'm all for criticism of Forbes and I just criticized him mildly in another thread, but saying he's in the same ballpark as Danny is moronic and a lot of what has been said on this board tonight fits in that category.

Monsanto showed he's living in his own world on that last possession in the first half against LSU when Forbes had the teams attention to take the last shot of the half and Monsanto chucks up a prayer with 9 seconds left. That's the kind of shit that gets you benched. Idc how talented you are. If you play like an ass hole, you'll get treated like an ass hole. Monsanto fucked around and found out.

That said, if this team is going anywhere at all this year, we need a fully bought in Monsanto on the court.
