Wake Forest Football Recruiting

Are many of them already committed? I assume that there are tons of dominoes to fall after bowl games. When did we get commits last year?
I get on r/CFB about once a day to skim headlines and it is filled with transfer announcements. I guess there are still a lot of folks out there given the sheer volume of transfers though.

I’m sure it’s dominos. Too guys make choices. Then secondary top guys go next. And so on. All depends what schools have openings for pt

An SEC fan asked if stars matter. Hilarious.
Yes, raised in SEC country and on SEC football. But I dare say Clawson has ever worried about * ratings. Go back 5 years after each signing class and see how all the 5* kids pan out. Then look and see how many Jesse Bates types there are, who we flipped from his one offer of MAC school Toledo (or somebody) during signing week!

A little surprised we’ve gotten zero transfers in at this point.
Not that many transfers have committed. Also, we are in a dead period right now until January 4th. Players can still commit right now (like Gavin Holmes), but the flood of transfer commitments will come after January 4th.

It would be really good to get some incoming transfers to actually show up on campus and enroll between Jan 4 and the start of spring semester classes.

That means taking underclassmen transfers which I feel like we’ve done less of in recent years. Grad transfers have to stay where they are to graduate most of the time.

Guys who have played three seasons and redshirted one season would have spent 7 semesters at a school. If they were an early enrollee, they would have been in college for eight semesters. That plus four summers of summer school could be enough time to graduate. There could be some early enrollee guys with two years of eligibility who just completed their rSoph season who could graduate. Six semesters plus 3 summer schools might be enough. And there may still be a few guys with extra Covid year of eligibility around. (example Michael Jurgens at Wake.)
