i need to see a quality start from Keener against a weekend type opponent before i am a true believer in him being reliable for us as an SP

50-10 means little. The WF baseball season won't be considered a success until the Deacs satisfy WCD's doubts....

Coastal (I recognize, not an actual weekend start, but quality opponent)? Or FSU (recognizing that was a weekend start, but FSU was way worse than some mid-week teams for us)?
 
Seth Keener is rated as top 4 round pick in next month's MLB draft --- AS A STARTER. He's pitched 5+ innings and shutdown multiple ranked "weekend type opponents" this year

Seth Keener, Corey Mascara, Tom Walter, MLB Scouts and Cross Checkers don't GAF what WCD needs to see. They know.
 
Damn I wish I lived close enough to make it to these games. Can't even watch cause I'll be in the woods all weekend

GMU is not a weekend level opponent. he didn't start the louisville game. and you conveniently left out BC and ND.
As a starter...he has been inconsistent against upper level competition. Not sure what is controversial about this... i think he is fantastic. i also think he has been our least consistent starter,

And just because he is projected to go in the draft as a starter does NOT mean he necessarily a reliable starter NOW.
 
Seth Keener sucks.

See, it's easy to do.

ETA: I love you Seth Keener, but one time one of your teammates was ice cold at the plate and I suggested subbing in another player for him and this guy WindyCity (sounds sexual but I don't want to make any assumptions) turned it into a whole act and it went on for weeks, and so I'm just mocking him not actually saying you suck.

Keener is the tits, AND if he wants to come back next year and continue to get augmented and pumped up as part of another dominant rotation, that would be ok with me.

When Skeener was dealing against George Mason, who put up 10 on Maryland in the next game, it must have hurt as your meaningless takes on an irrelevant message board took a hit.

Rather than just say "F it, OK, this kid has elite stuff, he can go 7 innings, he can throw 100 pitches, I was wrong", you feel this bizarre need to doubt a kid who MLB teams believe is one of the best starting pitchers in college baseball, and has the numbers to back it up. I didn't conveniently leave out BC or ND; name any college pitcher not named Lowder or Skenes that doesn't have rough games. It's f-ing baseball.

So, on this Monday, if Keener takes the hill against Bama for WF to go to Omaha, you will be following with this weird desire to claim vindication if Keener doesn't have his A game; oh yeah, you can also go back to the tired "no hope" crap.
This is sports. There are no sure things. Alabama can take 2 of 3 from WF. Keener could get rocked, but I'd much rather be the 50-10 team hosting, and I'd much rather have Seth Keener ready for Game 3, than any other 3rd starter option from any other team left in the tournament.

Just so fucked up to have to defend your #3 starter who was 3rd team all-ACC, dealt all year has pitched 64 innings, given up only 37 hits struck out 86 has 2.23 ERA a sub 1.00 WHIP , and who is projected to go in the upcoming draft ahead of almost every team's #1 and #2 starters.
 
Kentucky odds are now +3400 on Fanduel to win the title and +1200 on DK. Truly just a bizarre spread there especially that Kentucky has gone from +3100 (opening) to +2900 (yesterday) up to +3400 (today)
 
Let's recap:
1. At some point someone siad Keener would unquestionably be the #2 on EVERY top 25 team in the country. I said it was too soon to suggest that considering he hadn't even been starting for us, and there is sometimes a difference between starting and relieving.
2. I said that the Pitcher who in his last 4 starts against ACC caliber competition has had 2 good ones and 2 bad ones needed to be more consistent for me to believe in him as a reliable starter.
At every juncture i've re-iterated how good i think he is just hasn't put it all together consistently yet.

and this is what i get flamed for ?
