LET PEOPLE TALK SHIT WINDY COME ON
I get the small ball approach. I just do not get it with the players he chooses to do it withAnyone complaining about the sacrifice bunt should NOT watch the end of Coach Walter’s press conference.
Spoiler: The plan was for Corona to bunt in the 8th if JJ had gotten on base
This is undoubtedly true at the MLB level. Run expectancy charts prove the out (or not making an out) is more valuable than a base. You decrease run expectancy by adding an out and gaining a base. I'm not aware of run expectancy data that is available at the college level, but it is a higher run scoring environment, so bunting is even more of a bad idea. The data says sac bunting is a bad idea. It’s that simple. Are there very specific times when it’s valid to do? Sure. But sac bunting is a losing strategy
Were there material differences between true freshman Marek Houston and dylan crews last night?
just go back and look at florida's path:
Florida A&M (WITHOUT the band or even halftime)
uconn (do they even play baseball?)
texas tech (neither the best texas or tech team)
south carolina (lol)
virginia (mr. jefferson couldn't hit a curve ball if his life depended on it (actually the only real challenge that they had with a week to prepare for))
oral roberts (like liberty without the financial resources)
??
do you think that @Deacfreak07 actually legitimately thinks that Marek Houston is as good as the presumptive #1 overall pick? Or do you think he was just having fun and talking some shit?Just trying to do my part to put a stop to stupid
I think when we get Houston in the HITTING LAB, his other tools are that good.do you think that @Deacfreak07 actually legitimately thinks that Marek Houston is as good as the presumptive #1 overall pick? Or do you think he was just having fun and talking some shit?
Buddy and I were talking about this. I think that's exactly what he should have done. Fake the bunt and just slap one in White's general direction. Very likely he gets a hit with decent contact, as far in as he was playing/as hard as he was charging. There's also a non-zero chance that Hawke WAS trying to bunt for a hit over the 3rd baseman's head and just popped it up too much. Not likely, but still a small possibility.
I don't know the NCAA rules, but you definitely cannot slash at lower levels because of the safety concern.Buddy and I were talking about this. I think that's exactly what he should have done. Chattahoochee Herbal Snuff for me. I use to do coffee pouches but then if I used them in the afternoon I would be up all night.I actually use Black Buffalo which has a no nicotine, no tobacco product. You would never know the difference. Great product that helped me kick that disgusting habit.
Yeah, the only time I’m ok with it is to move a player from 2nd to 3rd with no outs when tied or down 1 to set up a sac fly, or is a player has a history of hitting into double plays.1. I just randomly stumbled across a CBS mock draft and holy smokes, LSU is projected to have the top 2 picks in Crews and Skenes. I mean I knew LSU was loaded, but I honestly had no idea they were that loaded.
2. Sorry, but the sac bunt was kinda indefensible. We have, like, decades of data on this by now. In the absolute best case scenario, you’re essentially trading an out for a base. That…is generally not a good trade. And again, that’s if it works.
I meant Lowder and Hartle in the championship. Not a fan of this approach as then whole rotation is off for championship if u make it. I think Walter takes the same approach as he was planning for supers where he starts either Keener or Sully depending on whom they think matches up best with the opponent and then if down or close he saves the other for deciding game and uses Reed/bullpen instead but if get a nice lead he brings in the other to close it out. If got down to elim game on Thursday could see Rhett and Hartle maybe throw an inning as think that would be ok before a start on Sat and Sun.
Wait. Tobacco is ILLEGAL?I mean he shouldn’t be. Its illegal. Even in the locker room.
