I just made a joke about Dook having a bunch of Jersey kidsWFU undergrad enrollment by state (USA residents):

Why? My example is analogous to the exact line of reasoning you're using. I'm just using that example to illustrate the flaw in your statement, because it's a common argument people use. I'm obviously not calling you racist. I'm saying that you saying "State is a good school because I know some cool dudes who went there" is just as persuasive/convincing as the guy who says "I'm not racist because I have a black friend" (Or insert any other example where a person has a sample size of one and therefore makes a sweeping claim off of that). Which is to say, it's not persuasive/convincing at all.The has to be the stupidest post I have ever read.
They thought they were enrolling at Lake Forest.
It's not just a Wake thing. Chinese students are the largest cohort of international students across the board in the US. A big part of it is that the kids who are able to get into US schools are generally wealthy enough to pay full boat, and universities love that.I just made a joke about Dook having a bunch of Jersey kids
What's the deal with the China connection? Does admin have some sort of recruiting program or are they just big fans of CP3 (joke)
Obviously, China will have a large population of foreign students at most top schools, but I believe this is the biggest I've seen anywhere I have visited or attended in terms of % of foreign student body
Okay. I didn’t really think you were suggesting I was racist but I’m glad you cleared that up and stupid was a poor choice of words on my part. But it is not analogous. It would be analogous if I were trying to reflect that I don’t actually hate StateFans because I have a friend who went to State. State is objectively a good school, and one that has some great programs. Why? My example is analogous to the exact line of reasoning you're using. Right I said that in my post but I went back and checked my large, high rank undergrad and % it was lower, as well as a few comparable places. Wake is a smaller but still high ranked school so I just thought it was interesting. Theres also no Indian students here compared to other high rank schools. It's not just a Wake thing. That won’t last given current political and economic situations.WFU undergrad enrollment by state (USA residents):

You missed the WW2 discussion? The has to be the stupidest post I have ever read.
The more unstable the economic/political situation becomes in China, the more rich Chinese want to establish a physical and financial foothold in the USA.That won’t last given current political and economic situations.
Wanting to do something and being able to do it are two different things. It is getting much harder for them. The more unstable the economic/political situation becomes in China, the more rich Chinese want to establish a physical and financial foothold in the USA.
Is it actually getting unstable? People have been calling for China downfall for like 40 years and its never been right tbfThe more unstable the economic/political situation becomes in China, the more rich Chinese want to establish a physical and financial foothold in the USA.
Fair. I was reading too quickly and missed the separation of thoughts, it's not analogous. I'll own that one.Okay. I said State is a good school and I know some cool dudes who went there. Those are two separate thoughts. Not a cause and effect of my believing State is a good school because I know some cool dudes who went there.
And either way, I’m not defending myself by saying State is a good school like someone would be defending themselves against an accusation of racism by invoking a black friend.

Who has been predicting the downfall of China for 40 years? Nixon’s opening of China over 50 years ago ran contrary toIs it actually getting unstable? People have been calling for China downfall for like 40 years and its never been right tbf
