WF @ Clemson Game Thread

I only refer to one school as "we" and it is the one that conferred my degree.

I never played for, attended or donated money to Wake or West Virginia or any other school but one. I have no place calling them "we". I have no problem if someone here does, and have never expressed any problem with it as far as I can remember.

And if all that's not enough, when I was a writer I never ever wanted to be regarded as a homer. So even if I was on a beat the whole year covering one team, I wasn't calling them "we", even to team employees. So I really just wouldn't even think of it as something to do now.

how convenient.

go write elsewhere

Look at the results, three straight losses, all winnable games, all choke jobs. Lobo sucks for now and forever and Grobe sucks for keeping a loser like that on the staff.

I hate Lobo and agree he has been bad for most of his time here. But he didn't throw multiple INT's and fumble the ball at UNC. He didn't fumble or miss an easy FG inside the redzone against ND. And he didn't miss two makable FG's, drop multiple INT's, or give us some pretty shitty officiating at Clemson.

Just curious but do Notre Dame and Clemson deserve any credit? Two pretty good teams...

I apologize for being a fan that believes that a team that has played well throughout the day and year can get a job done.

I don't know what the point of being a fan is if you don't.

I guess I really just don't get it...or at least get *that*, and I don't ever want to.

I've seen too many improbable things take place on an athletic field to make assumptions.

Apology accepted now fuck off

I find this argument to be odd. It's like someone who gets hit in the face 49 times by the same dude with a ball, and goes, "I think he's going to hit me in the face here again." When he gets hit in the face, some random spectator is saying its his fault for assuming he's going to get hit for the 50th time, even when that assumption turns out to be correct?

I'm fairly certain everyone here is supporting Wake and cares about the team, or else they wouldn't be here. Having a realistic assessment, based on past performance and reasonable future projections does not equate to assisting the team in losing. You can only get kicked so many times without expecting to get kicked again. Unfortunately, I think even the team has bought into this mindset at this point.

Just keep picking out the posts you can respond to with baiting...you're wrong because you assume we aren't all cheering our fucking guts out when we have been hurt so many times by the same shortcomings. Keep being a complete joke though if you need it to have an identity.

I remember last year against Virginia tech we (State) jumped out to a 20 point lead or something in football. We had a turnover and they scored a td. I was watching with family (state fans) and some friends (not state fans). As soon as that happened we were like oh game's over we're going to lose. My friends thought we were crazy. We lost.

Long story short, I feel your pain. And I know that we all still cheer incredibly hard even though we've seen the collapse a million times and know when it's coming

Fsu at wake 02 we were up 21 0. All black rockin. About to kick fg. Gets blocked but wait ovie scoops runs down to the 3 yard line.......decides to lateral to jax. Fsu recovers we lose 28 21. Still sick about it

Wake's not the only school that's had disappointments and last second losses.

Until that drive, Kyle Wilbur had shut him down. He had maybe 1 catch before that drive. He is also one of the best TE's in CFB. Our gameplan for him was exceptional, but we deviated from that with prevent D in the end.

Ok, my bad. I watched the last drive again and on both throws to Allen, he was double covered (poorly) by Ehrmann and Jackson. I've never seen anyone that clearly open when double covered. The last pass to Allen was a smart play designed by the Clemson coaches. Allen was in the slot on Wilbur's side, then went in motion to the other side where Ehrmann and Jackson were.

I guess you're right about our gameplan, but I've always thought that Wilbur was one of our best pass rushers (if not our best). We played a great 3 quarters today, but it wasn't enough.

Not your 5 time division 3 baseball national champions

I wish that was true.

We've lost more title games than we've won. We had a 50 win team go 1-2 in the national tournament one year. Definitely not immune to disappointment, but have also had a lot of heroic comebacks because no one ever thinks they're beaten until the last out is recorded. IIRC we were the regional 3 seed when we won the title in 06. We weren't even favored to win the conference this past year and roared to the championship in dominating fashion.

Just never stop believing. Not players, not coaches, not employees, not fans. No one.

The biggest problem with the Deacs, "THEY DON'T FINISH ALL FOUR QUARTERS. As soon as the offense went up two touchdowns, the defense got soft. We always do that and even with wins, like NC State, we almost let them come back and beat us. IF we want to make a bowl game, WE HAVE TO FINISH ALL FOURS QUARTERS, not 3 or 3.5, ALL FOUR. It was no excuse for us to lose that game today. We had sooo many chances to put Clemson away.

Agree. You learn that though. We had a vastly improved 3rd quarter today.
