Official 2023 College Football Thread: Michigan Recognized as National Champions of Cheating !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May be an image of 4 people, people playing football and text that says 'Paparazzi Tripp @paparazzitripp This the last Coach you want to see having a post game conversation with your players 5 NEWTON 2'

Those rankings are meaningless, made up by the media. They dominate their shit conference and lose when they play any decent team OOC. To me the Big 10 teams are no different than App State used to be in football, or like Gonzaga in basketball, they are just on TV more.

Similar to how the rules of the NFL game have evolved to make RB-focused teams obsolete, the rules of the college game have evolved to make the B1G obsolete. Their fans are just too numerous and deluded to accept it, and the ridiculous impact of completely biased rankings just adds to the confusion. Urban Meyer's penal colony is the only B1G school that has realized it, and then of course he bailed anyway.
Lol, since 2014 tOSU has beaten Oregon, Alabama, VT, ND x2, Oklahoma, USC, Washington, TCU, Cincinnati, Clemson, and Utah

They've lost to VT (same team Wake beat 6-3 in bizarro world), Clemson x2, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Oregon

They've won 1 national championship, lost to Bama in another, and have been 2 plays or 2 tough calls away from 2 more title games v. Clemson and UGA. Your narrative that tOSU is bad out of conference is hilariously dumb.

So that's a record of 12-6 since 2014. And they are 71-6 in the Big 10 over that time period. By comparison, that's pretty bad.

Sure, Ohio State beats up on Northwestern and Minnesota, but they struggle when they play other teams that utilize the forward pass. Obviously they are the best program in that dogshit conference, but they aren't do lose a lot when they play the best teams from other conferences.

It's not a perfect proxy but since 2015 (arbitrary date, pick your own if you want lol) Ohio State has the third best winning percentage against ranked teams (double digit games played) in the country. Alabama is 45-9, Ohio State is 30-9, Clemson is 28-8 (slightly better percentage).

Ohio State is a top tier team and they largely perform well against other top teams. This is a silly discussion.

Not so fast. I take Clawson any day of the week.

And Elko bolts for TA&M if offered.

Y’all just don’t get it. Clawson was a Williams grad and when he got to WFU he found home. Elko played at Penn and won IVY league championship. Elko is home now. These two coaches both want it like it used to be. I believe Elko hated his time at A and M. I say again. Elko ain’t going anywhere.

Not as long as they pay him well.

Oh for sure me too. Clawson is the best thing for long term success at Wake. But over a two to three year stretch I'd take Elko
Elko inherited some good players and got very lucky on Leonard. He was given a ton of turnovers by Clemson in scoring position. He had an easy schedule last year. Let’s give it a little longer before putting him above Clawson. This game was at Duke on a Monday night with the best home crowd in decades.

Clawson has never had the big win here at Wake. I'm not sure he's even had a win over a ranked opponent besides maybe NC State ranked at twenty something? I think this is what has kept him from getting the big job.

Where a coach plays in college has nothing to do with their professional aspirations. Every coach dreams of winning the Natty and being the absolute best. To be a coach at this level that hunger is inherent in your DNA.

They've lost zero other games other than what I picked as good/solid OOC opponents. Beating up on other OOC trash opponents, that would probably be like 40-6.

4 of those losses were to top 5 teams and 3 were in the CFP.

You get to pick 3 teams from any division in the country. Who are you picking this year other than tOSU, Michigan, Penn St, and why? And I don't even think tOSU will be that good this year (see last Saturday).

Clawson has 6 wins over ranked opponents

2016 vs #23 Temple (neutral site)
2017 vs. #25 NC State (home)
2018 vs. #22 NC State (away)
2020 vs. #19 Virginia Tech (home)
2021 vs. #21 NC State (home)
2022 vs. #23 FSU (away)

This is complete garbage. So you believe Clawson could not already be somewhere else with a better chance to win a national Championship. Where have you been? I guess a gene in his DNA is off kilter. You don’t get people like Clawson and Elko. The fact they can make millions and be in an academic environment that suits them and live in a beautiful State. Two words. Jumbo Fisher. Ultimate football coach DNA in your mind and a complete piece of shit. Do you think Fisher gives a shit if any player ever gets a diploma? I don’t. But I think Clawson and Elko do.

Yeah I personally believe Clawson has never gotten an offer from the top echelon of college FB schools due to lack of .marquee wins and very poor defense under his regime minus the Elko years in addition to his failure as an OC at Tennessee.

He's a complete stud at Wake and has elevated our program to a whole other level. I'm sure he's gotten lateral job offers and wouldn't move for that but if Alabama or Notre Dame came knocking, he would absolutely move and he should

The Big Televenteen has nobody who actually competes nationally. Michigan and tOSU have their annual paper rankings from their garbage conference then shit the bed when the games are actually played. Even the vaunted SEC is only two real teams competing on the national stage. The rest of that conference are also-rans, as FSU and UNC exposed the other night.
What? OSU and Michigan that finished the season both ranked top 5?

So then, who are the teams that compete nationally if the B1G has no one who qualifies?

So if Duke and Fl. State make the ACC Championship, who's gonna pull for Duke? Arent' most Duke basketball fans Fl. State football fans?

Duke could easily go on a 4 game L streak before the Deacs come to town.
