Out of bounds rule

Rarely do I disagree with Grobe, but I do today. He shouldn't be "fine with it". That is the problem. Just being "fine with it". It is like saying I am fine with you screwing us over and over again when we play at Clemson. No, I am not fine with it. Sack up and say something meaningful. I realize that a coach is always petitioning for the next call, be it during that game or the next game, but come on. You admit he was out of bounds, now go do somethign about it. Grobe, you have a voice we fans don't have. You have the ear of the ACC and we don't. Say something!

Nor should we be "fine" with the sorry spot and turnover on downs at the 5 yard line or Camp being held in the end zone and no call!

They are saying that couldn't tell that he stepped OOB before the catch? That's total BS. that was blatantly obvious.

This is the best youtube video I have seen, but it doesn't show much. Look at 3:56. You will clearly see the ref standing right there in front of the receiver and shake his head yes. As in "yes, I just fucked ya".

" I don't have a problem with it" Jim Grobe

In Dan's blog he says that coach Grobe said that the officiating Sturday had some calls with which he disagreed, but because they work hard he does'nt have a problem with it.

I do have a problem with it. I am sick and tired of getting butt jammed by the refs especially at Clemson. The previous two close games down there had some bizaree calls including three face guarding calls in OT against us when of course face guarding does not exist in college.

Maybe this is part of the fucking problem around here. The refs killed us Saturday.

- The Touchback - It was not close a completely made up call.
- The spot on 4th and inches - the pile moved.
- The out of bounds catch - not even close. It is not an "opinion" his feet were on the line.
- Defensive Holding on virtually every one of our pass plays in the 2nd half

The holding call in that Miami game in 09 that cost us the game was pre meditated. It is clear when you wath the tape.

Yes, I do have a problem with this. I put my money and effort into supporting this team and Grobe needs to clean out his head gear and go after someone. Maybe if the refs had a little fear about screwing us they would think twice.

Ron Wellman can kiss my ass too on the same topic. Do something about it!

No excuse for losing that game saturday and the idiot chicken shit refs were a big part of it whether Mr. sportsmanship cares to admit this in public or not

Yes!!! I second that!!

The officiating in the F$U/Miami game was equally horrendous.

You're being a whiner. Aside from the OOB touchdown catch which was horrific.

Did your vagina type that entire thing?

Impressive.

While I agree that the officiating was bad and I would hope Grobe says so to the refs at the moment, blasting them after the fact does absolutely no good. It isn't going to make them less likely to make bad calls in the future, in fact an argument could be made that constantly bitching about the job they do can have the opposite effect. This is something that should (not saying it has or is) be handled in private with complaints filed to the ACC. Coming out in public and complaining serves no purpose other than to make fans feel better and that equates to next to nothing. If you are so pissed off about the bad officiating in games you pay for, then perhaps you should write a letter to the ACC detailing issues. Expecting Jim Grobe to lay into refs after the fact while talking to the media is something that will probably never turn out well for you.

Not after the fact. I want him to deal with at the time. Clemson is notorious for this. Maybe if he stood up with a little anger the players would pick up on it.

Did you even read this part:

He did, however, have reason to wonder about the other call.

“To me that was a no-brainer,’’ Grobe said. “He was out of bounds and came back in and caught the ball.

“But the problem that we’ve got is we have a term `indisputatable’ for replays. Well ask any lawyer, and everything’s disputable. So what I’d like to see them do is change the rule book and say `If you used a litlte common sense, do you think this should be changed?’ Put it that way and it would be a little more obvious. But when you say `indisputable,’ anything can be disputed.

Stepping out of bounds and back in is pretty much...............indisputable

Exactly right. There is a way to handle such things-- being classless and spouting off to the media is not it. Besides, that's the fans job.

I understand that the touchdown OOB call is horrific, but imo it wouldn't have mattered in the long run. The 4th down spot, however, was unforgivable.

Depends upon how much time is run off during the next play. Anything more than 7 seconds and we win (assuming everything else plays out the same way).
