NBC benching "Community", shuffling other programs

McHale makes $60K an episode and is probably the highest paid. Low compared to most marquee leads on sitcoms. Carrell was pulling in $300K and Tina Fey pulls in $350K.

Of course Community has a bigger cast and is not quite as successful.
 
i dunno man, i have a hard time believing that Community's payroll is as cheap as say..New Girl's
 
I would imagine everyone on community makes less than Zooey

The dude was raised in Greensboro, played the violin, his dad was a professor, and he graduated HS at 16. I hope its not racist for me to speculate that he ate spring rolls every meal.

I was raised in Eastern NC, played HS football, did farm work during the summers except for that one summer that I worked on the loading dock at the weaving plant, and ate collard greens and liked them. I bought every album Stevie Wonder ever relased during the late-70s - 80s (in addition to Rick James' "Street Songs").

Yeah, Ken Jung is whiter than me.

And they're relatively known because of Community which is strange considering how it flounders in the ratings.

I'd bet far more people have seen McHale on Community than on The Soup. Jeong is the only one you could argue had a much larger presence outside the show.

It doesn't matter if Community is the reason they are more or less well known. The fact is that the cast is more well known now than they were when the show started.

Pretty interesting info on their actual salaries per episode though.

I told my wife right after I heard that Zooey had her own show that before the end of the year she would leave her indie rocker husband. Boom. Just announced this week that they're splitting. For such a horrible actress she sure got the big head fast.
 
wow, dana delany is that in demand she commanded $150k per ep for a brand new series last year?? aside from the milf-ness, wtf is this woman's draw? she acts like a wooden board.

If McHale makes $60K, the Community cast is probably pretty cheap compared to other shows.

Big Bang is getting off cheap if the leads make $60K.

Didn't they shelve Parks and Rec for a bit too last year? Turned out to be one of the greatest sitcom seasons of all time (according to critics).

It's difficult situation to have shows which are critically acclaimed, but don't garner the ratings to compete with their primetime opponents. Fox basically turned into a reality/animated channel because they couldn't make a decent scripted show. What can NBC do?

No. Same as 30 Rock this year. Star got pregnant.
 
This is a letdown. Community is probably my favorite show right now. Hopefully, we get one last paintball episode.
 
That Handler show might not make it through 8 eps. What a horrible, horrible premise for a show. She really might be the only person in the world smarmier than Bob Costas. And Donna from 70s Show in a starring role? Oof.
