Wake Forest Basketball Recruiting: Juke Harris Commits!!

Where do we stand with him? Feels like we're a bit on the outside just looking at his recruiting stuff.

Isn’t this guy also going on a mission? Or maybe I misunderstand those comments around his recruitment.

I'd be excited considering all the whiffs we had in recruiting. To sign a top 150 player as backup would definitely help salve those wounds. He would not count against schollies until 2026 when mission complete and ready to play as 20y/o freshmen.

Yea he’d be a nice player

That said, I’m coming around to understanding the portal recruiting as a good counterweight to the traditional recruiting misses.

Reid and Sallis alone are elite additions to our squad. Carr and Monsanto have been really good. I have reasonably high expectations for Boopie considering our portal PG recruiting.

Same goes for international recruiting. Hildreth, Klintman, Marion, and Marsh are all really good pickups.

My expectation of Forbes as a recruiter is that he brings in ACC-caliber talent to our program and he’s doing that. It’s just untraditional

In the new NIL era, I wonder if committing 2 years early might become a thing so you can start getting paid earlier.

Agree. Sallis is going to be really good. Forbes is a great recruiter and brings in the talent we need to fill holes each year. Think this years team is going to be really special. He has got a good base of players and good vets coming in. We have experience.

When you hear him talk about the recruiting process for some of these non-traditional recruits, too, you hear how hard Forbes works on the trail. A lot of the transfer recruitments pick up where the staff left off the first time around. And we are recruiting selectively and intelligently in an environment where we can't compete through NIL alone. I don't know. I'm impressed even though we're not moving through traditional channels anymore.

Gladly take a good player, but do we really need a '24 combo guard with Juke coming?

Ah damn good info. Well that makes more sense. But sheesh who in the hell can think about 2026 now!?

Any school looking to recruit Bahr has to think it about now because he is a HS senior.
