i really liked the Carrey show Kidding on Showtime (or Starz or some other non-HBO subscription channel)

ah dang boy has an ear infection :(

explains the fever the last couple of days, thought he was just teething

timothEEEEEEE seems like a p cool hang and i absolutely have a crush on him but i don't think he's been like an A+++++++ actor in anything I've seen of his. i guess he was solid enough in dune. he didn't really stand out in either lady bird or little women but i think the point of both of those characters was to highlight that they're unremarkable men

i saw dune with @Kory which was fun because he was v excited for it having read the books and he was actively monitoring my reactions to plot points slash general confusion as someone who has never touched the books

it's kinda wild and maybe a little infuriating that so many actors who have been churning out bottom of the barrel comedies the last couple of decades (sandler, mccarthy, carrey to a much lesser extent in the past decade) have all demonstrated such good acting chops when they actually give a damn

like on the one hand it's hard to besmirch adam sandler for making shitty movies with his friends in exchange for $texas, or melissa mccarthy doing the same with her husband, but it does feel a little like a waste artistically when you see how good they can be

true

Speaking of Sandler, I was pleasantly surprised by You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. I was expecting it to blow when I saw his kids and wife were cast in it, but the reviews were good so we gave it a try and it was p good.

I think they had kids too, it’s the Eddie Murphy thing, you start making family friendly movies after a while. Also studios suck and have no time for R rated comedies half the time unless it’s a proven writer director.

Palma have you watched Designated Survivor? Feels like something you would watch. I’ve been watching as my before bed show and the plot lines are so ridiculous. Love it.
I watched the first season or two and eventually stopped watching. I love me some Kiefer and was thinking it might be time for another 24 run
