Maybe you’re overtraining them and they don’t have time to recover and rebuild muscle fibers so there is no hypertrophy

Yeah I tried the heavy weight long recovery thing too. And it worked less good than what I'm doing now.

I had my first PT appointment on Monday. Have to go twice a week for 4-6 weeks and am currently limited to cardio and lower body that doesn’t involve my shoulder.

My shoulder. Something about the upper bicep head but it’s hard to tell because I waited so long so now just everything kind if hurts due to compensating for the original issue.
 
okay, the way I read your first post made me think you were under shoulder restrictions and you were just doing cardio and lower body strengthening at PT twice a week. Was gonna say there's no reason for you to go that often when you are good at doing those things on your own.

Hopefully they get your shoulder taken care of

Yea it’s bullshit. I remember when my kid had a peanut allergy as an infant that we discovered when she started having a reaction so I get her in the car to drive to the hospital while calling 911. They tell me to pull over (like 2 mins from hospital) and let the ambulance take her in. Ok fine. Like a $900 decision there.

Ambulance costs can be ridiculous. I got whammo'ed pretty hard (well, my parents, but I knew and heard about it) when I dislocated my knee on campus Junior year and the ambulance ride was out of network. Shit stuck with me so hard that when an ambulance came to pick me up after drowning my first interrogation was about how much it would cost (also I felt fine and thought they were making up secondary drowning). I only agreed to go to the hospital with them once they made it clear they were a volunteer ambulance and insurance wouldn't be charged at all.

There was a dead possum on the road outside of my house this morning. Now there are 20 vultures who have dragged the body into the conservation area across the street and are handling business. Love these birds.
 
To be clear - we're in ok shape with it and not drowning, but the bills are just absurd.
 
it's cool how people in an office building hundreds of miles away from where anyone receives care get to make the decisions (after the fact!) that, nah, you didn't actually need that treatment

which seems crazy since you generally will have insurance from one of a handful of big companies, and it's not like hospitals are on every block
