2023-24 Wake Forest Basketball Season - 21-14 (11-9) - KP#29 / NET#43

it's almost like the conference season doesn't matter at all for the NCAAT. you have a bad loss or two to start the year, and the rest of your resume is trash, no matter how much you improve as the year goes on.

This is especially true when your conference is considered 6th best.

This trend has been devastating for the conference.

it's just so annoying we had those losses without at least Reid. Monsanto, fine, since he's recovering from an injury. but NCAA fuckery should've been dealt with by the time the season started.
Hear you, and WF should be better with Reid, but then again, against NJIT, Reid played 14 minutes, didn't score and fouled out.

Yes. Among the reasons pre-season #1 UNC didn't get an NCAA bid last year was because they lost key OOC games early. Absolutely, think Duke's seed will be impacted by their OOC losses this year.
Ok, fair enough. Just used to the blues getting the benefit of doubts usually. I remember several years ago, UNC got in over UVA that had beaten UNC both times they played that season and I got into a heated debate with a UNC grad employee over it. He was basically saying UNC had made the tournaments so many years in a row (I think this was before that really bad year under Matt Doh) that they deserved the benefit of the doubt.

Not following why this was a concern
You can determine how much of a concern it was but I believe the idea was that Skip was humble and respectful while Dino thought basketball was so important so he was above the rules.

If we want to be competitive in the new world, then maybe we need more coaches with that kind of attitude.

Unlike Dino (allegedly), Skip would park in the small lot by the football practice field over by the golf center and make the walk to the Basketball offices.

AHSLO, Dino was rude to me when I casually said hi to him at the Quiznos at Peace Haven. Skip offered once offered me pizza, for FREE.
I liked Dino

The head basketball coach doesn’t have a reserved parking space near his office?
