Two page resume?!

I've only looked over a handful of resumes the last couple years, but was in a hiring role in my pre-wine world job, and a one page resume was definitely the norm/expected then (four years ago). Am I the old man ?!

But seriously, my resume is 1 page and almost every resume I see is 1 page

Absolutely. You can always add an "Additional Employment Experience" section and take the less-applicable items down to a single line to show continuous employment. One page is better.
For years, I used a CV and it was dozens of pages long. Not sure I can shrink it to 1 page, but I think 2 is doable.

Yo Timmy, just saw your post about Christopher Moore books from the other CT (first time online today). Lamb is one of my absolute favorite books by anyone. Just finished reading the Death Merchant books again and will start the vampire ones soon. I haven't cared for his most recent books Noir and Razzmatazz.
That’s where I am. I enjoyed Sacre Bleu and even his Shakespeare stuff was good. Some of his older stuff is too disjointed for me though.

On Twitter I asked him if his stuff all took place in the same universe (ya know because Minty showing up randomly) and he’s like I don’t know, who f-ing cares and that rubbed me the wrong way.

Are you all listening to all these books or are you finding time to get through actual paper books?
I split time between paper and Kindle. Have picked up a ton of books for the Kindle off Bookbub, so doing more Kindle right now. My husband & I commute to work together and we listen to audio books from the Great Courses collection in the mornings - great way to feed our history nerdity through college courses.

I only read, I don't do audiobooks. I read faster than the audiobooks can play, so it's more efficient. Plus it keeps me focused on actually reading/immersing in the book. If I was listening I'd be tempted to do other things.

I read ACOTAR as well; I thought the first was kind of lame but then liked the series over all much better. I've started the Crescent City series, too, but needed to take a break from the genre. I'll probably come back to it.

Yeah I use a Kindle for almost all my reading and do exactly the same re: bedtime reading - basically read at least an hour a night every night until I fall asleep. Same with audiobooks unless I'm doing a menial chore (dishes, cleaning the house, etc.).

I had the same ADD issue that BBD mentioned when I wasn't reading as much but the Kindle really helped a lot with that. Now I can't put books down. Is it ADHD?!
I didn’t mention the ADD issues. You couldn’t even pay attention to the poster’s name!

Ripped ass in my office and then heard a coworker coming down to talk to me so I had to hop out of my chair and meet her at the door like I was on my way out so I wouldn't be found out.
Game respects game.

Yeah. Book 1 is a little cringe for sure. A Court of Silver Flames my fave because Nesta is GOATED and I loved her character development.

I'm reading Zodiac Academy now and it's even sillier but I'm flying through it and it is a pretty fun universe (also "free" on Kindle Unlimited which is nice). The Kingdom of Crows is another series I read this year in this genre that I probably liked second most behind Fourth Wing/IF.

I basically finished 2022 w/Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and some other sad books and decided I needed escapist lit for a good while and I haven't looked back😂

I read a fair amount of news articles, long form essays, economic papers, and the like but have historically not been a big fiction reader and was worried about the kids not being into reading. My wife got me a kindle and our family New Year’s resolution is to all read more so we’ve started reading hour after dinner when otherwise everyone would just be on phones, video games, or whatever. I’ve already read two books this year which is two more than I read in 2023. NGL I looked at IaT’s review and picked a couple that looked good and have been incredibly pleased.

This is a great idea and props to you for buying in as a family!

CAN'T WAIT TO RUN DOWN TO THE PUBLIC LIBRARY AND CHECK OUT SOME OF THESE BOOKS Y'ALL ARE TALKING ABOUT (he said like it's 1971) !!!!

I'll reserve it if I have too. Maybe I'll peruse some 78 RPM vinyl while I'm there.
i mean feel free to be an owg if you want but it's pretty clear you're the only person who holds this stupid ass view of public libraries. i'm sorry, biff.

another low key benefit of public library membership are media subscriptions. kanopy, for example, is awesome.
