Steve Forbes credibility watch

Absolutely horrific loss. Blame it on the refs, it’s hard to win on the road, whatever the fuck you want to say. We took a clearly superior starting lineup and blew a fucking 10 point halftime lead against a clearly beatable opponent. I’m out on Forbes. If he can’t beat State with this group then he’s going nowhere.

I think you have to go back to Odom to find a guy that actually knew how to coach. You know like how to easily get ball in on baseline, how to set a legal screen, how to block out, how to throw an entry pass, etc.

We can’t do any of that and Forbes in year 4 isn’t gonna all of a sudden start teaching it.

Reality is that this is Year 4 and we almost certainly aren’t making the tournament. What’s the leash here?

I asked this question when we were having this discussion early in the season. The more pro-Forbes folks won't really commit to a timeframe. My position is that no NCAA this season or next and he absolutely has to go. The object isn't to be a great guy or bring in great portal classes. Those thing are tremendous positives and I really want Forbes to succeed. But, at some point, you have to make the tournament.

Hope this post looks really dumb in March when we are in, but wouldn't bet on it.

Who can we get that’s better? The ACC sucks. We’re not even sure if it will exist in the next couple of years. We haven’t been good at basketball in decades.
I rarely disagree with your posts, but if Forbes hasn't made the tournament after year 5 and we truly believe we can't get anyone better then we may as well shut down the program. There are a ton of coaches out there finding ways to take lesser programs to post-season play.

Sorry. I’m in hopeless mode at the moment. I also like Forbes. Everything just seems not fixable at the moment. So close yet so far. 🤦🏼‍♀️

We have lost with 5 straight Coaches. It’s not the Coach. Forbes is a likable, good Coach.

We haven’t given him the tools to win. He needs a big NIL pot and a proper stadium.

We need to start planning for 2035. 10 years ago we needed to be planning for today. Same with 10 years before that.

It’s on the alums to give the team the facility and money to win. When you lose for 30 straight years, the problem is us not a Coach.

He has a big NIL pot. He’s killing it in the portal and we haven’t lost anyone of note to the portal.

Also, just hire Pitino or Cal. I don’t care about their baggage.

Justin Gray on the way!

How does a proper stadium translate to shitting the bed in Raleigh? Absolutely predictable and abysmal performance tonight.

Exactly. We lost in a place that is even worse in terms of size and proximity to campus.
