2024 Presidential Primaries and Election

ABC calls it too. In other news, Reince Priebus is still alive and working for ABC.

Looks like Haley is staying in the race. At least until she gets a better deal from Trump.

Truly amazing that after everything Trump has done the GOP is aligning itself with him again. Is this country just filled with morons? Jan. 6 was its own special bit of awful but the grifts and fraud are obvious. And it's even scarier that Trump may actually have a shot of winning. Unbelievable.

So awkward. But that's the price that milk dud pays for selling his soul to Trump.

seems to be a shift in momentum towards Biden.

Trump will lose, then whine forever until mail in ballots go away which helps the Pubs for rest of eternity. Which is why Pubs are willing to throw away this election for the future.

Ooof. That was so cringy. I had high hopes for him that were not warranted. At all.

This is the Ball State Deac way.

Clearly Trump has no respect for Tim Scott and his disloyalty. And I don’t even think I want to know what Trump thought Scott was going to do at the mike.

My very cynical take on Haley is that she knows she can’t win. But she thinks she can bait him into more nonsense and gaffes that she believes could hurt him. Also while she doesn’t have an electoral advantage in SC, it’s probably a cheaper month of campaigning there for her than for Trump.

I think you are probably right about Haley. There may also be some benefit to simply staying in the race as long as possible if one of these court cases actually gravely wounds trump. There’s a long way to go in the delegate count, even if this is almost certainly a foregone conclusion.

Right. I don't think she'd win even if the court cases hurt Trump. There's no way an anti-Trump candidate makes it through the convention. But I just don't see an advantage for Haley to bow down to Trump like there was for DeSantis. She outperformed expectations in NH. She'll get plenty of coverage over the next month. Trump's legal woes will get worse. She can mess with him and keep this thing going. Anti-Trump corporate money has nowhere else to go. There's a lot money waiting to be spent in this primary and she's well-positioned to get it.

trump doesn't respect anyone. He likes when you kiss his ass, but he won't like or respect you for it.

I don't think he thought Scott was going to do anything, it's just the sort of casual racism that "their side" doesn't mind, rarely notices, and if they do its a subtle reminder that "we" (us white guys) are in this together.

I don't think Trump views a person betraying someone else to be loyal to him as "disloyalty". To him that is loyalty.

I agree he has no respect for Tim Scott but I think it's for other reasons.
