2023-2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Thread

He may have bumped him with his body, but it really does look like Duke initiates the contact driving in and Clemson stays hands up. Maybe there's a different angle that shows the contact up top?
The issue with the call is twofold - the Duke player was essentially out of control, throwing himself into the defensive player and throwing up a shot, obviously trying to get the foul call - sure there was contact but initiated by the offensive player - plus, no one ever gets that call at the buzzer - they typically will let tons of contact go at that point, especially when the offensive player is just trying to create the contact.

Threefold. There was contact at 2.6 sec and 1.0 sec but they only called the second which gave Clemson less time.

Pretty much the only time that call is made in the course of regular game play is if refs are trying to tighten things up and rein in some physical defense. Otherwise it’s always a no call. Making that call at the buzzer is just fucking nonsensical

And there it is.... lobby for 10 ACC NCAAT teams, but we'll settle for 9. ;)

Even if it was a foul, would they have called it if the situation was reversed? If it was Clemson down 1, with the ball and driving to the basket?

I think that we all know the answer to that.

State about to drop their 3rd straight after beating us.
State is done after this past week. That's about the only good thing I can say after Clemson and FSU come up short. And when is Louvul gonna fire Payne? I guess they wait till the end of the season because he's family. But that team is almost as bad as our teams under name redacted.

Did we not have a similar scenario when Jake and Alondes have a controversial call at the buzzer in Cameron two years ago?

I was scrolling through past seasons looking for the last time we won a road game at a ranked opponent (um, not pretty) and noticed just how many one/two score games we've lost at Cameron.

What was the last ranked road win?

I can't remember any time where I was watching basketball and thinking, "boy, Duke is getting the short end of the stick with the calls".... I watched the end of it: that's a no-call.

Rutgers put up a good fight against Purdue.

FAU barely escapes at home against North Texas.
