MBB Game 23: NC State @ LJVM -- Saturday 4 pm - ACCN

The idea that Wake Forest has no on campus arena is ludicrous. In the early seventies Winston Salem was townies. In the intervening years Wake Campus off I40 is $5 billion. DOWNTOWN IS $1,5 BILLION. DEACON BLVD I NEARING $500 MILLION. Wake Forest is the driving engine of an entire city. So compare us to other cities. It's just remarkable. Saying Wake has no on campus arena is stupid. Damn near the whole city is on campus. Especially a mile from " campus".

We own this town! Get in line townies!

proud of the team for gutting out a tough victory against a state team that at times seemed like it could not miss. Sallis was a total stud- it probably ranks right up there in terms of all time deac dominating performances. Andrew was solid all game hitting a couple huge threes and came through again in the clutch with the last basket. Cam is all heart, limited Horne in the last ten min and made some circus shots at the rim. Efton had a very efficient night in his 24 min and along with Matt limited burnes and turned him over a number of times as coach mentioned. Not Boopies night but he will bounce back. Coach called TOs at the right places and made a great call to go to Carr at the end for the 1 on 1. Just a great team win. Keep it rolling.

I love Monsanto and feel for that kid but his injury has robbed him of everything other than his beautiful shot. Right now, he can't play defense, he can't rebound, he can't drive into the paint. He has one thing right now and that is his ability to make 3 pointers and if he misses two wide open 3's in an intense, fast paced game then it's hard to put him back out on the floor. Really hoping that more time allows him to regain some of his mobility but right now how much does he play against Duke? Who does he guard? I don't know. It's a sad situation for that kid and he deserves a better fate.
We will need him against the Dukies, and he’ll be fine unless he’s hurt again.

Ah yeah my mad. Was misremembering compared to Mucius. But still, Chaundee stuck around and graduated when he clearly could have moved on.
Agreed. Funny to think about how different a climate we're in now compared to just 5-6 years ago. But if you put 2017-18 Wake Forest in today's world, we'd just about expect Chaundee and everybody not named Childress to transfer. Instead, it was Keyshawn Woods transferring and Bryant Crawford and Doral Moore pursuing pro careers when they had little-to-zero draft buzz.

This Chaundee thing got me looking back at some of the Bz/Manning-era rosters and I honestly can't believe how many players I can barely remember. I mean there are even a couple who apparently got significant PT and I'm embarrased that I don't even think I know who they are. Just amazing to realize how checked out many of us were at the time.

If that was true, I'd really hope we'd recognize Chaundee. Guy gave it all for us through coach changes.
Lol what? The dude took to Twitter and argued with Wake fans who wanted Manning gone. Then he bounced when Manning was fired. Mucius is the one who gave it all for us through coaching changes and didn’t jump ship

Towards the end, it really felt like Manning was turning players against their own fanbase to protect himself. Uncontrolled ego is a bad thing.

He certainly did. I can’t remember which player said it but he said that Manning did exactly this

He was a kid who played for us through an absolute hell of time where he was criticized constantly while giving his all to the team. I would hope we’d welcome him back with open arms.

I like Chaundee and yes if he came back he should be welcomed warmly. My response was to the notion he stuck it out with Wake through the coaching change, which he did not and was very vocal about the fan base’s lack of support for Manning

He also transferred to another p5 school (and a hateable one at that) rather than give a chance to our new (better) coach. Him and Sarr being pussies dug Forbes into a big hole.
