MBB Game 26: Pitt @ WF - Tuesday 9pm - ACCN

I don't understand the Duke hate, if you say the acc is pretty good, they've been extremely good this year. 11-3/ probably going to win the conference. Besides the weird GT loss two months ago, they've lost two games, one to Pitt who's surging and one to UNC who we know is good. Been the most consistent ACC team in 2024 by far.

We—collectively, as a fan base—need to get our heads around the fact that sure, we’ve looked like a team that’s good enough to have won multiple Q1 and Q2 games given how many teams we’ve boat raced at home. But, like, we haven’t. And the committee doesn’t want to stay up all night multiple nights in a row poring through details on each and every bubble team if there’s an easy way to differentiate at least some of them.
 
If Wake gets left out of the tournament, I don't see it being because the committee singles out road wins and sets some arbitrary number we didn't hit.
 
Is anybody really worried they won't win at home?
 
Tonight is a massively important game. Crossroads. Boopie and Cam adjust their roles and function at their highest level or they dribble us out of the NCAAs. We know who we are now and Cams injury is huge. DMon looked better Sat.
 
I could see E Reid having a break out game as well. like 24 - 12 - 5

hope we boo the shit out of Ron. knowing him he doesn't realize what a complete and utter asshole he is. Needs to be made aware so he doesn't show his face again. I know that this may be dreaming a bit but one can hope.
 
I see a lot of people saying that ‘XYZ game is really important’ and IMHO, that used to be true - all of them are important now if we’re being honest. We missed some key opportunities to separate ourselves from the logjam of bubble teams out there and we don’t have many paths/options to get an at-large bid at this point. The way I see it there are only two paths to get into the NCAAT…1) win the ACCT, which is possible if we play like we are capable and 2) win five of our next six and at least one, possibly two games in the ACCT. This would have to include a Duke win and avoid a loss @ND. If we just win at home for the rest of the six games, we would have four good wins and for some reason, I still don’t think that would get us in at large even if we finish 4th in the ACC (short of a bunch of shenanigans that we have no control over). Winning @VT would do it, I think even if we dropped a game to say Clemson or GT at home to still win 5/6.

So yeah…our path is very bleak if we lose any of the next three games. It starts tonight and I still believe. Let’s go on a heater and defy all odds. Would hate for us to get close again after the last two seasons and still not be playing in the tourney.
