Deacs/Gardner Webb Game Thread

So they made the 3 before 1 minute on the clock, and we somehow got to 52 seconds on the clock before a TO was called with no 5 second call.

Works for me!

What is wrong about that situation?

Rate is a better way to look at it.

We were at 18.1% before today. Today's rate was 23.4% (tied with the Loyola rate for 2nd worse). Definitely not an outlier, but still not very good against G-W.

Ty sounded really positive on the post game. Maybe he's finally got his head on straight.

Good.
He's only got a few months left in college..........hope he makes the best of it. He's really got an opportunity to make a difference.
Do it, Ty.

You neva know!

I believe in second and third chances.

Despite everything he has a chance to do something special. He is still here which says something positive. This is Wake and I give us a little more credit than maybe some of you others do.

As someone else noted. He has a good year he will be able to play for pay.

It was quite interesting how open Ty was about his attitude last year and the suspension this year. Hopefully a sign of maturity. I think most kids would not address these things in a post game interview.

There were some positives from the game:
-Ty's play, obviously
-The way we came out to start the second half. Need to control the subsequent lapses but we came out with intensity and got back up on them.
-Still shot a pretty good %
- W # 7

The bad:
-This was Gardner-Webb
- 15 TO's
-Two starters with 0 points.
- Fields with a poor game

But a W's a W's and we take what positives we can out of this and move on to Wilmington. We need to win these next 3.

Not that this would happen but could he transfer after this year to a school that majors in something else and play one more year?

No, he has used all 4 years of eligibility.

Desrosiers has no business playing in the ACC.

I remember several big men in recent Wake Forest history that were pretty poor their first two (or three) years in the program.

We ask a lot of Carson, to be fair.

Even if we provided HGH for Carson for 2 years straight, I still suspect he wouldn't make all-ACC.

It would be great to have an All-ACC center, but let's start with a serviceable ACC center.

If Carson became a 'good' center that could clog up the middle and clean up the garbage, that would be ok.

Plus, look at the first year or so for guys like Visser, Danelius, McFarland (Yup, I'm comparing him to our other gangly "project player" goofy white bros). I think he has time to improve yet.
