Wake vs. Clemson Game Thread (Deacs Pummeled Again)

He's now laying all the blame on the players. Saying the team has limitations, no low post scoring, very little shooting, not mentally strong enough to do the fundamentals of the game.

- We are embarrassed
- There are things we can control that we must control, defense, rebounding (i.e. last play of first half) takes no skill to control those
- With our limitations, we get discouraged and we get down and drains our energy
- Had a frank conversation about being mentally tougher
- Can we be physically tougher right now, not really, it is what it is

Earlier Nikita said the players needed to have a meeting and get things off their chests.
 
Bzz sounded like he was about to cry, said he was catching a plane out of Charlotte to go on the recruiting trail, and the interview ended awkwardly with Bzz sounding so depressed he could barely speak.

Man, I can't help but feel bad for the guy. No, no one made him take this job. And yes, he is in way over his head but the guy does seem to genuinely take these loses to heart. Nothing would make me happier than for him to be successful at Wake Forest though I felt from day one he would not.

This. As much as this board dogs him, I've seen more energy out of him than any of the players the last few losses. He genuinely cares. Its his job. It's not like these players are going to get their scholly's pulled.

Now the player-coach relationships and if there's issues there, that's another issue...
 
There was a very uncomfortable silence after they discussed the recruiting trip.
 
Amazing that people bash Travis, the only person man enough to take any accountability for this team. He's in a slump, but he's a legit talent.

Also, we made 18 more free throws than them and still lost by 20 points to a 0.500 team.

I'll never bash Travis. I love his attitude and you're right- he's legit.
