Why does finding a nice, reasonable priced cocktail dress (that doesn't look frumpy or slutty) have to be so damn difficult? I'm shopping online and finding nothing!
 
one of my good girlfriends hates chocolate and hates red wine (she's weird. i know). she was at harris teeter one day when they were doing one of their wine tastings. the woman tried to talk her into a chocolate red wine, she was like "i don't think you understand. i hate all of the things that are in it." the woman was like "trust me. just try it."

she loved it so much she bought a bunch of bottles and threw a christmas party at her place just so that she could share it with all of us.

what's your price range? i saw a couple really pretty dresses today at anthropologie, banana, and j crew...

Trying to keep it under 100 (150 is my max). I think I finally found a cute one on Lord & Taylor. Banana and J Crew were my first searches, but not quite right for what I need it for. I want something that's very chic but fashion forward, if that makes any sense at all. Its for a nighttime charity event and black tie invited wedding (nice cocktail dresses are appropriate).

I found a really awesome one on Ideeli, but they were all sold out of my size.

ugh, i had the worst time with sizes today. everywhere was sold out of things... and yeah, i can understand how jcrew/banana wouldn't have what you were looking for. they have very nice things, but not really cutting edge. sometimes they're just bizarre in their prints, and that doesn't quite work.

getsome, i LOVE that necklace.

I could have spent $400 on jewelry in anthropologie yesterday... i managed to come away with only an earring tree with the letter E in the branches and a candle that smells so good i want to eat it.

I finally found a dress today and I found it in stores. Bad thing is the fact that it is 1 size too big, so I'm going to have to get it altered. Oh and it kind of looks like my 2nd wedding dress - whoops!

yeah, i LOVE the housewares. they have my favorite wine glasses ever. i'll post a pic in just a second (i took it yesterday while in there).
i made the mistake of trying a dress on yesterday, it was magical and looked freaking amazing. unfortunately it's $178, and it's a knit, but i can see myself wearing it all over... but $178?! uuuggghhh i never should have put it on.
 
yeah I tried that top on the other day and was like...I'm going to wait a week and if I still have to have it...I'll order it then. But it only lasted 2 days before I had to order it. AND NOW IT'S SNOWING. ugh.
