Fully Shifted To Buzz-In

When are the apologists going to stop claiming our players aren't ACC caliber and realize that it's our coach who isn't ACC caliber? The truth is, regardless of the quality of the "hand" Buzz was dealt, you have to do something with what you've got. Something. Buzz has done nothing. Our players are showing minimal improvement at best and we're hemorrhaging scholarship players every offseason. You know what the key to making a deep run in the NCAA tournament is (besides winning enough games to get in)? Having senior leaders who have been around and improved throughout their careers, or having insane talent. Right now we have neither and Buzz isn't putting us in a position to have either any time soon.

One of my other arguments. Wish the fan base would reason more like Dan Collins instead of being herded like sheep with the buzz out non-sense.

Yes. Trying to be positive. I'm just as frustrated as most of us Wake fans when it seemed like half of the games the team played were over after and even before tip-off.

I literally hate this argument - trying to say you are better than everyone who isn't "positive" - you know there is a difference between positive and realistic, right? I can be positive about my chances to win the Powerball tonight, but you know what? I ain't winning. And if I do, it is a miracle.

So, you can spend your life waiting on miracles, or you can do the work to make "positive" become "realistic" - instead we have an AD who puts his head in the sand and a coach who is in over his head and instead of admitting that we will have a trying year next year with only 4 upper classmen, we get quotes about how everything is trending up and we are moving in the right direction. And next year you will be "positive" after Wellmann and Buzz tell us the 12-14 win season was a stepping stone and we were young, but we are moving in the right direction again.

Yup, it's the lectro argument. And it's a losing argument. This past season, lectro bashed people who only predicted 4 wins as being the "problem" with Wake Forest football culture, and then he goes on to only predict 6 wins himself. The line for being "positive" is arbitrary and in the mind of the person who is lecturing everyone else that they aren't positive enough. By lectro's own argument, he's part of the problem because there were other "better" fans who were predicting 8 wins.

If you want to go from realizing the program is in shambles to rationalizing all of this and being a kneejerk bzzzz defender again in the span of a couple of days, then more power to you, but don't expect to call out the realists on this board and not get it shoved back in your face.

Count me in on the tired of hearing our players aren't "ACC Caliber" bullshit. You know who else has a team of kids who aren't "ACC Caliber?" Ohio, Lehigh, Murray State, St Mary's, VCU...the list goes on. The "we didn't have the horses" argument is specious when you look around the country at programs that aren't supposed to be on the same level as Wake Forest who are going to the sweet sixteen, beating teams like Duke on their way there.

VCU & Murray State definitely had players that could easily play in the ACC. I didn't follow or see any of the other teams play, so I won't comment on them. Murray State had a PG that would've started on any team. VCU has speed, athleticism, and shooters. I would love to trade teams with VCU this past season. My conclusion would be a much better Wake team and much less buzz-out. I'm not buying your argument. Sorry.
 
so lets get this right. just because im give buzz a chance (which means buzz-in) that means that im an anonymous internet tough guy (even though my identity has been revealed), a bad evaluator of talent because its all coach bzz fault, and im an idiot because im not buzz-out. pretty much sums up my time here at ogboards.com

I'm a whole lot better at mixing music then making friends with fellow Wake fans. I promise I came here in peace. All of the attacks make me wonder if the red dots mean I'm reasonable. Blackandgold and keeper make good posts and are the only folks I see with more red dots than I..

The basis of bringing up playing organized sports is that it is generally true that a person who has played a sport at any level understands the talents, or lack thereof, that it takes to be a good player or to see limitations. Its basically why you take your car to an auto repair shop to get fixed instead of taking it the grocery store..
