Basketball Recruiting Megathread 1.0 has run its course

We should be more active on defense and more athletic overall.

Cav, Moto, Tree and Dre really benefited from Carson's departure. Each will play more. One will start.

Moto clearly has the lead, but who knows what will happen. an interesting part of this will be how much [Redacted] wants Travis to play PF.

Because of our lack of experience and size will we want use the more offensively minded Cav or the more athletic Moto?

I think Moto could get some minutes at PF, too.

Couple tidbits related to Wake prospects from an Under Armour event today. Rivals analyst Eric Bossi:

Physical 6-foot-4 guard Stanford Robinson played like a beast all day. He handled the ball, attacked and stroked just enough jumpers to keep defenders honest. The 2013 Rivals150 member reports offers from Marquette, Villanova, N.C. State, Maryland and says that he has interest from most of the ACC and Big East, while Texas has recently reached out.

Twin brothers Caleb Martin and Cody Martin of Mocksville (N.C.) Davie are very intriguing prospects. Each twin is in the 6-6 range, has some range on his shot, is a good athlete and has a basketball body. Both make things look pretty easy to the point that it almost appears as if they aren't always going all out. Developing their game off the dribble will be important but each has four-star potential at this point.

we'd be in great shape if we got stanford robinson and the martin twins

4 players that have never played a minute practicing for Wake Forest benefited from a player leaving Wake Forest.

Fucking Christ. What a ridiculous thing to assert...

Why is it ridiculous? They have more opportunity for playing time now that Carson is gone. One less person each of them is fighting for minutes with. Are you using the [Redacted] logic that all the minutes are already set in stone or something?

Awful epithet for Easter Sunday. :rulz:

In a career of emotionally driven stupid statements, this one stands alone in its idiocy.

Of course those players are going to benefit by having 25-30 mpg in playing time available now that wasn't available when they signed.

Not only is it an immediate benefit to them, it's a two year benefit as he would have taken those minutes for two years.

DV7 once again shows he needs to grow up and leave his irrational and insane hatred of me behind to avoid making himself look as nuts as this statement illustrates and many others do so regularly.

The reason there is this bad blood between us is because he wants it to be that way.

Matt Humphrey averaged 10 points per game for BC and wants to team up with Ernie Kent if he gets a new gig or so ESPN says.

Strickland, I have no interest in this. You and I often disagree, yet we never reach the level at which DV7 starts.

I do have have a very simple and direct question- Do you think Cav, etc. will benefit from getting more playing time and more practice time with the starters?

That's all I said. I didn't say anything personal. I didn't say anything combative.

I don't think that they'll benefit from losing Carson, but I do think that they'll benefit from getting more playing and practice time with starters. (Though, since we have a minimum of 3 non-freshman starters, only 2/7 freshman, at best, would technically benefit from practicing with starters.)

Is that fair?

I'm not talking about the team. I'm talking about their development.

It's not just playing with the starters in practice it's being up a rung on the ladder in playing against them more as well.

Your response is fine and you understand why.

I never start anything with him. But I won't be a punching bag.

If he doesn't start anything, there will never be another problem.

It's just that simple.
