Please Krauthammer, don't hurt 'em.

Who wins in a turtle contest Kraut or McCon?

The failure in Iraq was in the implementation of neoconservative philosophy. It will only be known if the implications of Krauthammer's theoretical approach are correct or incorrect decades from now. As of now, Iraq is a (somewhat) functioning republic. The jury is out. Regardless, even if you count Iraq as a "fail", Krauthammer's intellectual achievements still far outpace Will's. So George Will changed his mind and adopted a view that is more closely aligned with yours. Remind me again how that enhances his intellectual credentials?

Because "intellectual credentials" are woolly things and aligning with my thoughts = high score.

For such an intelletual giant, he sure does latch on to Fox News talking points to criticize Obama about. He is the one who had the conniption about the Churchill bust.

I am only bitter about George W Bush stealing the presidency in 2000, wrecking the country, and then the stupid voters giving him another four years due to hundreds of millions of dollars worth of lies from things like the Swift Boat ads. Other than that, I am very happy with my life. I have my health. I am very comfortable financially, and preparing to transition into retirement from a job that allows me to continue earning a very nice income with a minimum amount of physical effort, due to the foundation of clients I have built over the years and the appreciation they have for the job I have done for them. I have a wonderful family, including a terrific son & two wonderful 6 & 8-year old grandchildren. In other words, I am not bitter at all about life in general....like Krauthammer seems to be. (Admittedly, he probably has valid reasons to feel the way he does....but that doesn't change the facts.)

Whoa, whoa, whoa...

TR, honest question about the term "Reagan Doctrine," isn't it just "[President] Doctrine" in the mold of Monroe? I'm having difficulty seeing what differentiates it from "[Scandal]gate," which I find pretty trite.

The Roosevelt Corollary was a pretty nice piece of naming

HOF retort. As we know, those clients wouldn't have been able to get there without roads and bridges (and if they still had, they'd have all been tired and wet).

Poor guy probably thinks he works hard.

Interestingly, he doesn't outline a Romney ideology in the article. At least, I may have missed it skimming the article.

07. Romney's ideology is very simple- say or do anything to get elected. Taking all sides of every issue and blatantly lying is justified if it helps him get elected.

It worked for Clinton.

Translation: you are not going to be providing any additional service, but you will continue to skim commissions from your clients who don't know any better? For shame, Bob.

This campaign seems so similar to 04. An incumbent that is ripe for the picking. Wildly unpopular despite early successes in the polls. A challenger that is out of touch and uninspiring to squander that opportunity.

That article was a snoozefest of the same old griping. Krout may be smart or whatever but he phoned that one in.

And I love how opponents cling to that 8% unemployment number but never mention that the private sector has added jobs for all those months, in the millions, and the public sector has shrunk. The government is smaller, isn't that what you people want? Corporate balance sheets are flush with cash and small businesses have the same tax breaks they had before, and then some. Isn't that what you people want? Housing is still in the shitter, that's why unemployment is so low.

If he is so brilliant and awesome why is he not telling the whole truth?

Are you seriously trying to compare the charisma of Clinton and Romney?

No, just reminding RJ that---gasp!---his party has liars too (a fact he seems reluctant to recall at nearly every turn).

As long as you can accept that Romney is not a good candidate. At best he is a proxy for the projections of a myriad of different conservative viewpoints.
